I've got 2 hotel reservations: Paris and Caesars

My boyfriend and I are looking forward to our first trip to Vegas 12/16-12/19. I booked a red room luxury at Paris a few months ago for $70/night, which we were totally happy with. Today I booked a cyber monday deal for an Augustus Tower deluxe king room at Caesar's for $85/night.

What we liked about Paris was the theme, the central location, the monorail access, and especially the quick access to The Strip - we plan to do a ton of walking (we're great walkers). But, I've read Caesar's is a nicer hotel and we didn't think we could afford it. Every other time I checked it was over $100 a night.

Is Caesar's a lot better or is the resort too big for first timers?

I can't specify on the specific room types. Hopefully someone will chime in with that. I tried to look up the ranking order & I can't get their website to come up right now (probably overwhelmed or taking the sale off). I was thinking Forum was the lower ranking so I would assume Augustus is a nicer room.

I do like the following for Paris:

Red rooms are very nice with super comfy bedding, flat panel TV, coffee maker, old minibar (fridge) you can use.

Easy to get around in. Easy to get in & out of.

Lots of food choices between Paris, Ballys (inside hallway) and 5 minute walk to PH. Maybe 8 minutes to Flamingo.

Disregard the monorail access in my opinion. You have to go to Ballys to get to it, and then you have to walk way back thru a back hallway past the pool. I have just started walking to MGM if the weather is decent & I want to hit south end of strip. It's such a hike from any monorail exit to the hotel you want to actually be in. So don't use that as a plus in my opinion.

I have always considered Caesar's too big myself, but I am in a minority on that probably. I look for things such as convenience to additional food, etc. My blood sugar crashed on me last trip at Paris. I simply had to go a few doors to the elevator, get off & the newstand is right there to get juice at. At Caesars for me it would be a hike to anywhere from any elevator. (And yes I had sweet stuff in the room - it was just THAT BAD lol!!) So I am an exception in the size of the place perspective - I look at that from a totally different viewpoint.

I seriously think you would be fine at either location and hopefully someone who has stayed at Caesars can give you a better perspective as to location of that tower etc.

Caesars Palace is a much nicer hotel/resort than Paris. Augustus Tower rooms are wonderful. Huge bathroom with separate jacuzzi tub, toilet in it's own room, pretty good water pressure in the standalone shower. Ask for a fountain view when you check in.

I stay primarily at Paris and love it, but will take Caesars over Paris any day. It is an all round nicer property and classic (Hangover reference:) As mentioned ask for a fountain view if in Augustus. You really cannot go wrong with any room class above Forum Tower level.

Lots of food options there with a food court, Forum shops and many high level restaurants on property. Do wear your walking shoes and get a map cause it is huge.

Augustus tower room is superior to the Red Room at Paris. Have stayed in both. Caesars is definitely the better property. One stay at CP was good enough for us though, just too big. You mention you like to walk and

since it is your first trip, I say go with a Vegas icon, Caesars.

Whatever you decide, have a great trip!!!

For the price, take Caesar's Augustus. You will not regret it. Been in both and you can't compare.

I prefer Paris to Caesars because of the size issue (it's not a mobility issue for me, just don't like Caesars layout and find it to bee too large). That said, you got a great deal, so go for Caesars. it is definitely the more impressive property.

" Is Caesar's a lot better or is the resort too big for first timers? "

Caesars is the superior hotel in all Categories, its one of the top end Hotel in LV that constantly up-dates itself. You will not be dissapointed with an Augustus Towe room, they are one of the best other then the Octavius tower rooms. .

Its a shame your going in Dec when the weather can be cold, Caesars has the best pool grounds second to none in LV.

Paris is a middle of the road mid priced hotel that is showing wear and tear and while it does have a Much smaller casino one can get tired of that French theme fast. .

For the extra $15 per night go for CP.
