Wait another couple of months and check out smartervegas.com. By then hotels' promotions for May should start appearing.

Your budget equates to around $150 per night (try to use $US when posting here). For that you should be able to get something pretty nice, though though bear in mind that your weekend nights will be more expensive as rates typically 2-3 times higher than midweek then. As you have a week, perhaps consider splitting your time between two hotels.

Start looking at places like Treasure Island, Harrahs, Monte Carlo, MGM; they should be in your price range when you average in the weekend.

Don't forget that many hotels charge a daily resort fee of up to $25 + tax per room - this could take up some of your budget.

I stayed at Bally's for less than that and the location can't be beat. Beds were super comfy and rooms were very clean - even if the furniture is dated.

My recommendation would be to go cheaper, and save your $$$$ for gambling, shows, restaurants, etc., unless you spend a lot of time in your room. You can get a very decent room at Harrah's (although haven't been there since the construction started) or Flamingo. Wouldn't recommend Imperial Palace at all, but that's because I ran into a roach fleet about ten years ago when crossing their property. I realize that's far enough back to be invalidated, but something like that just stays with you.

If the quality of your room is important to you, then somewhere like Bellagio or Venetian would be good.
