25-year-old lady's first time to Vegas, what should I do?

Now for some more detailed information.

I'm visiting a friend of mine who moved to Vegas a little while ago and it will be my first time visiting. She is not extremely familiar with the ins and outs of the city yet, so I thought I would get some advice here.

Both my friend and I are 25-year-old females. It will just be the two of us on this vacation for the most part, though some of her Vegas friends may be joining us.

I'm flying into the city the afternoon of February sixteenth and flying out the morning of February nineteenth.

We do have a place to stay, so hotels aren't a problem.

I would like to try gambling at least once, but I'm a bit low on funds, so any suggestions on lower buy-in tables would be great.

Otherwise, some things we enjoy are dancing, shopping, fun places to get drinks, theater, country music, and spending time outdoors.

I do like some level of touristy things while on vacation to new places, but not necessarily all touristy things.

As far as food, pretty much anything goes, maybe a good sushi place; again, not all touristy type places to eat.

Also, on average, what is the weather likely to be like at the end of February?

Thank you all so much for any help you can give.

There are tons of safe, female freindly tourist things to do center strip.

If I were you i would start at Bellagio and just venture out from there.

I would definitly visit cosmopolitan, have a signature drink at one of their bars and just check the place out, its a property worth walking around. Bellagio is right next to cosmo, visit bellagio, watch the fountain show and check out the conservatory. if your not into slot machines i would recommend roulette, and if you have questions on how to play ask a friendly face next to you. if you have time i would have your friend take you downtown one night at check out the light show and maybe go on the zipline. have fun!

You will want to spend one evening on the Strip, seeing the Bellagio Fountains and walking around from here to there.

You should also spend a couple hours one evening downtown at the Fremont Street Experience. That way you will be familiar with both the gambling centers in Las Vegas--The Strip and Downtown.

For shopping you might like the Forum Shops at Caesars and the Fashion Show Mall on the Strip. There are outlet malls in Vegas as well.

I like playing the penny and nickel slots at the Cosmo. You get "free" drinks while gambling.

It also may be fun to go to a spa. Qua and the spa at Encore are very nice. Day passes are around $45.

justmeinsd, her apartment is about twenty minutes from the strip give or take.

Which shows are most worth seeing or which clubs are most worth going to?

Also how dressy is too dressy?

Sorry for all the questions, I just don't have the slightest idea of what to do while I'm visiting.

I agree for shopping go to Caesars Forum shops. www.caesars.com

They have Pure & Shadow's nightlife.

For a fun place to go for country music, home style food, dancing, & fun atmosphere you may want to check out Toby Keith Bar & Grill @ Harrah's. www.caesars.com

Le Reve at Wynn is a very good show that I've seen several times because it's that good.

If you like something simple & fun check out Legends @ Flamingo

For shows, I would suggest either Absinthe or Mystere, both great shows and a little more budget friendly than O or Le Reve for example.

The only clubs I have been to are Ghostbar and Moon, both at the Palms. We went on a Sunday night years ago and were able to pay one cover for both clubs, not sure if that has changed or not though. Drinks were expensive but we had fun dancing into the wee hours of the morning.

Ghostbar has an outdoor balcony which included a clear section of the floor which you can stand on and see thru all the way down to the ground 55 floors below. Definitely a cool little experience

For gambling I would go downtown its a little cheaper and less intimidating.

IT also has all the casinos closer together so you can walk around and gets some cocktails!! Weather will most likely be in the high 50's low 60's and it can get chilly at night. I will be there from Feb.15th thru the 19th so I will be checking for the weather too. Have fun!

You might consider Love at Mirage or Jersey Boys.

I think since your friend is new you should do one touristy day on the strip for sure.... see Bellagio inside and out (fountain shows, conservatory made of all flowers and living things seasonally, plus glass sculpted Chihuly glass ceiling by lobby.

You could just drive to a few standout places or sections and park for free. NYNY is fun to see and Paris too (for themes), along with Venetian/Palazzo.

I agree that you should go get a drink at Cosmoplitan. Look for a slice of pizza at the "secret pizza place" on the third floor. If you play a few slots there and have some dollars on hand for tips, order a chocolatini at Cosmoplitan. Yummmy.

For table games, the strip will only have cheap tables at lower end places during the day, and the limits rise as evening comes.

Downtown (Fremont Street) is great for table games and you CAN find low limit tables. Plus, I like being down there at night most trips. It is like a big outdoor party and you can see the hourly outdoor light show canopy thing.

You mentioned Country Music. Two places come to mind: Toby Keith's "I Love This Bar" which is at Harrah's walking back toward the monorail.

Another place is Gilley's at TI (old Treasure Island).

Have a great trip.
