Scenic Day Trip

We are coming to Vegas from Ohio at the end of March. Looking for a scenic day trip to enjoy some WARM weather in case Vegas is not sunbathing weather then!

We like winieries, ( have been to Napa/Sonoma ) and light hiking. Celebrating 25th anniversary, so a nice dinner somewhere would be a good idea.

Any suggestions??

I'm guessing you'll have a car. If so you may want to check this place out. I've never been myself but have read good things about it.

Valley of Fire State Park is a great spot for hiking. Weather in March will be perfect.

nearby to Las Vegas also is Red Rock Canyon and worth seeing.....its amazing and if you have a car, its a short drive...

what is your price range for the anniversary dinner?

We once did Le Cirque at the Belagio and its our favorite restaurant (but not always in our budget - its pricey).

We also like Mon Ami Gabi - and see if you can get views of the Belagio fountains across the street.

So many great restaurants, so little time.

I agree with mini, Mon Ami Gabi @ Paris. But get a table outside, on the front patio. Very romantic setting with the Eiffel Tower right over you, facing the Bellagio fountains. And the people watching is non-stop entertaining.

Red Rock and Valley of Fire are great, if you're a little short of time and knowledge of the area, but also they can be crowded. If you want to be the only people around, in some ofthe most stunning geologic scenery anywhere, and be no more than 30-minutes drive from the city, go out to Lake Mead National Recreation Area. It's basically a national park. Do a google search on the Lovell Narrows and the Bowl of Fire. They are right next to each other and can be combined into a lovely day hike, easy hiking. You can find both on Google Earth, too, and see lots of photos of both areas.
