Best place to purchase tickets for shows/trips?

We are going to LV end of May for a week. Would you recommend that we purchase tickets for trips/shows here in UK beforehand or on location in LV. Obviously the travel agents in UK are saying best to buy from them but we are thinking that there is more competition once there and prices may be more competitive.

Can you help out with some advice please?

If there is a certain show you really want to see, I would book ahead of time.

Smartervegas.com has some discount codes.

Otherwise you can wait till you get to Vegas and book from the 1/2 price ticket booths.

You really need to say what shows you're thinking of seeing. Then you'll get the best advice in terms of what the best plan to go about buying tickets will be. I wouldn't buy via your travel agent under any circumstances as I doubt they will be aware of all the offers and deals that will potentially be available.

Unless you're looking at major headliners, no need to do anything urgently - tickets for most shows won't even be on sale yet for late May.

depends on the show, but if there is 1 major show that you want to see like a cirqueshow or a act that will only be in town for that weekend, i would generally buy ahead. buying once in vegas at the discount booths is a wast of vacation time in my opinion since the savings can be pretty marginal and your stuck seeing what they have available. travelzoo.com and smartervegas tend to offer the most current deals. and a general tip, dont book shows on back to back nights. scheduling in vegas can be tricky as the later nights and time change can really mess with the body so make sure to not overschedule too much in advance. we usually book 1 or 2 shows for a 5 night trip and if there is a place we really want to eat at i will email the hotel consierge or call the week before and make reservations. planning out the vegas trips is also half the fun, cheers!

thanks everyone for your valuable advise. We don't know what shows we want to see yet. Just putting out feelers. Once again, thanks and keep the good advise coming. :-)

Go to Bill's Gambling Hall or Casino Royale and you can get them half-priced.

Check the following web sites for discounts on shows you want to see. You may have to register, but these sites are all free.

Some Cirque du Soleil shows are discounted from the Cirque web site: cirquedusoleil.com/en/…home.aspx

Also check the hotel web site (the entertainment tab) for discounts. Many Cirque shows are sometimes discounted from their “home” hotel.

Tix4Tonight has booths in various places on the strip. They sell same-day discounted tickets to many shows. Don’t expect to find tickets for top shows such as Celine Dion. When top shows ARE available, it is often a small discount off the more expensive seats.
