South Point or Silverton

Looking for savings on this trip. I can get Silverton for $35/night or South Point for $45/night. Any advise on which is better. Mainly going to Vegas to do some golf and some gambling and really not into the crowds on the strip.

Is one better than the other? or any ideas of other nice cheap places to stay.

Suggestions?

Haven't stayed at either but I've had better gambling luck at Silverton.

LOL leo I have better luck at Spoint I hit my first Royal in like a 20 year dry spell and then have gotten one a year since then.

I have stayed at Spoint. Looking back at my TR's very nice rooms big, floor to ceiling windows, coffee pots, but a hike to the rooms. Many good places to eat .

Gloria I do here good things about the Silverton also but I can't give you input. Either way have fun and win big.

Stayed at South Point in November. Ultra locals place. Felts in the casino were very worn. Rooms were very nice though.

Just got back from Vegas yesterday and had stopped by Bass Pro at Silverton. Liked the casino there much better but I have never stayed there so cannot comment on the rooms.

If you like the idea of shopping at the Bass Pro shops everyday, then the Silverton. Otherwise, I'd say the South Point - movies, bowling, more restaurants, better buffet, nice sportsbook, great showroom. Easier access to the Strip if you decide to do that.

Another vote for the Silverton, well worth $35/nite...A real "locals" Casino, decent rooms! Good Luck & Enjoy!

I have stayed at both. I would go with Silverton. Not as smoky. Always has newer games. Brand new sports book is very nice sized. Better restaurants but not as varied. The only thing the Southpoint has that Silverton doesn't are bingo and bowling.

South Point fan here. I found Silverton dark, SPoint is very bright. I love the rooms there.

Been to both but only stayed at SouthPoint. We enjoyed our time there. I would choose South Point.

Stayed at Silverton on our last trip but if we stay again would definitely ask for a top floor room. The noise from people in the room above us was disturbingly loud and I think they were just walking around - nothing out of the ordinary. Our room itself was comfortable and we liked the smaller hotel. Haven't stayed at South Point but have visited the casino and like it, so we have one night booked there for our next trip to check it out.

Southpoint is bigger, newer and the rooms are more luxurious. Location is moderately better. Pool is way better.
