Who would of thought that finding a hotel could be that hard

Looking at a 4 night stay on April 13 this year for myself, my 18 yr old daughter and 14 year old son. No one wants to share a bed of course. Really wanting a 5 star hotel - do I get 2 basic rooms (I would imagine that we will run the real risk of having rooms miles away from each other which will not satisfactory) - or a suite - problem is that the suites seem only to have only King beds from what I can see.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Try the palazzo they all suites with living rooms and I know you can pay a little extra to have connected rooms

Most places will give you connecting rooms if you request them.

When we go with family, we have never been refused adjoining rooms at any location.

Your right, suites in Las Vegas are designed for luxury not multiple occupancy.

The Bella Suites at Venetian/Palazzo are only suites in name only. They are not really seperate rooms, but they might work for you. 2 Beds and then a couch in a sunken living area.

Two BR suites at a better hotel is awful expensive. You would be better of price-wise with 2 rooms. You also might want to consider one of the condo/timeshare properties.

Palazzo or Venetian - room with 2 queen beds and a pull-out sofa that is comfortable. Some kids that age won't even need to pull it out, it's a wide sofa so many teens can sleep on it as is. Do make sure to get a room with the pull-out if you want it, not all of the sofas are.

You might also consider the Bella Suites at the Venetian. They contain 2 beds and some also come equipped with a sofa bed for a 3rd person.

Do check into this as your children may not be allowed to occupy a room by themselves at the casino properties.

I believe vegas-guide is right: Vegas hotels require all rooms to have at least one occupant who is over 21, so your children would not be allowed to have a room by themselves. Without knowing exactly what your budget is, I would recommend either getting the Bella Suites at Venetian and requesting a roll-away bed, or the X3 Suites at Mandalay Bay (which have one king and two queens). The latter will be pretty expensive, though.

My plans may change as my ex and my daughter (23) now want to meet us there. More room complications - now there will be 5 of us. My ex will share with 14 yr old son. I could share with 23 and 18 year old daughters... preferably not - I want a holiday too...and there would be a fight to the death for a bed (not a sofa bed) and bathroom - so does that mean now I need 3 rooms.... ??

I think it means you tell your kids to suck it up. When they begin paying for their own vacation, they can dictate where they sleep. You're trying too hard to appease children who should be grateful they are on an international holiday.

Put the 23 & 18 year old in their own room. 14 YO & Ex in another, you in the single.

At least that's what I'd do.
