hotels with less smoke

My husband and I are going to Las Vegas for a birthday party and although we can tolerate some of the smoke we would prefer a hotel room far away from the smoke. Any suggestions? We were considering the Golden Nugget or the Mirage. I understand the Mandarin Oriental is smoke free but that might be too costly for us. Anyone have any experience at staying at hotels with good ventilation, clean and less smoke? Thanks

The larger, newer casinos have the high ceilings and better ventilation systems. I believe the Venetian and Palazzo claim their systems turns the air every hour within the entire casino. Mirage has always seemed a bit smokier to me, and the Golden Nugget certainly is. GN is older w very low ceilings.

I am a non-smoker and have never noticed the hallways to my room or my room smelling of smoke.

Palazzo has a non-smoking casino area if you are interested in venturing over there. You can still smell the smoke, but it's not bad, and nobody will be smoking around you.

I can't speak for the other hotel you mentioned.

I've never had a smokey hotel room in Las Vegas. Most properties have smoke-free floors -- and the majority of the rooms are smoke-free.

You will have some smoke in the casinos and bars, but not the rooms or common areas.

I, too, have found the GN and Mirage casinos to be smokier than others. I have never noticed a smoke smell in hotel hallways or rooms, because I always request non smoking and must have stayed in hotels where smoking/nonsmoking rooms are on different floors.

The Marriott chain are all smoke free. Residence Inn, Hampton Inn, Courtyard... They are located at Russell Road and Dean Martin.

We stayed at the Mandaaly Bay and since the casino is pretty big I did not smell smoke. Beware, this hotel is also pricey.

I do not know if it is a rule of thumb or not, but non casino hotels are possibly non smoking as well. We have stayed at the Platinum. It being non smoking is a draw for me.
