Golden Nugget Room Choices

The GN has about six different "levels" of room quality. Can anyone sort or the difference or recommend the best level to get. My requirements are -- 2 queen, or 2 doubles, non-smoking, and I don't want to hear the Fremont Experience.

Although we haven't stayed there we have just booked and did a fair bit if research. The Rush Tower seems to have the best rooms so that's what we've gone for.

Also, if you join Landry's reward scheme you're guaranteed an upgrade, except on some blacked out holiday dates. We're there over 4th July but might take the chance and join anyway, despite the $25 joining fee.

We stayed in the Rush tower last May and really liked it. I'm not sure if they have two queen beds or not. We didn't have any trouble with noise and it's a non smoking tower.

if you really want quiet from the FSE, and two queens or doubles, go for the Carson Tower. The Carson Tower is farther from fremont, and most rooms face east or west, away from the noise.

The Carson tower rooms are the "bottom end" GN rooms, and as oxy stated, are the farthest away from the canopy. Gold tower rooms are the next level up followed by Rush tower rooms.

I have stayed in all three types. The Carson rooms are as good, if not better, than the standard rooms at any upper level strip hotel. Gold tower rooms are decorated like the Carson rooms, but have the extremely comfortable beds that the Rush tower has. Gold tower is located right above the casino. Rush tower is the newest tower, very modern and comfortable.

I have enjoyed my stays in the Rush Tower.

Oxy, doesn't it take several hours to get from the Carson Tower to Fremont St.? I thought I read that on this Forum. ; - )

The Rush tower rooms do not have two beds. One king only.

If you get a Rush room that faces the FSE , expect to be disturbed by noise until the bands stop. Not an issue if you are the type that stays up until 2am or later.

Breeze, it does take a long time to walk to the Carson Tower. If you stop for a nap on the way.

I've stayed in Carson, and for the first time last March, Rush Tower. The Carson tower rooms I've been in prior to my stay at the Rush Tower was a better "standard room" than the same kind of thing i've had at Excalibur and Luxor. Honestly, it was the best basic room i've ever stayed in on a casino hotel.

The Rush Tower room my then girlfriend and I Stayed in last March was heavenly...beautiful, luxurious, truly comfortable beds, and the coolest showers we've ever been in. And all at a price lower than many Strip resort's middle of the road rooms....

So if you can swing it, choose like a prog rock fan and choose Rush. Otherwise, the other two towers aren't very bad choices for rooms in Vegas either.

I stayed in the Carson tower last year. Room was nice for the standard room. Didn't hear FSE at all. We almost always stay in standard rooms and Carson at GN was better than NYNY, Luxor, Flamingo to name a few.
