Where to stay NEAR but not IN Vegas?

Hi all,

We will be passing through LV area on a family road trip this summer. DH and I have been, and the strip area isn't a place we want to bring the kids at this point.

Can anyone suggest a good place to stay outside of the strip area that might be nice? I seem to remember a JW Marriott near Red Rock?

We will be coming from Yosemite and headed to Zion, Bryce, and Grand Canyon.

Thanks! Oh, and a great pool for the kids is a must:)

Station Casinos Red Rock and Green Valley Ranch both have awesome pools and are very family friendly.

From the subject line , I think you are confusing Las VEgas for the Strip, LAs VEgas is a large metro area so many hotels are in LAs VEgas but away from the Strip.

The JW Marriott is in Las Vegas, it would be a nice option. So Would Red Rock which has movie theaters and a bowling alley, which is also in Las Vegas. Im not sure which way you will be coming in from Yosemite but if you are coming from Bakersfield and then North on 15 they both are kind of out of the way if you goal is just an overnight and then on the road in the Morning.

The M is right off the 15 if that is what you are wanting as a great property as well

South Point is another option, right off the 15 at Silverado Ranch, they have a nice pool, movie theaters, bowling alley and lots of reasonable options for food.

You might stay in Mesquite. It's north of Las Vegas about an hour on the way to Bryce and Zion (but not the Grand Canyon). There's a place there called the Casablanca, yes it does have a casino but it also has a really nice pool and a reasonably priced restaurant and a McDonalds next door. The rooms are not fancy but they are clean.

JW is very nice. Stayed there on a Marriott Rewards point offer once. Just like staying in Palm Desert, Or Phoenix.
