Nice Upscale Burlesque Shows?

My wife and I will be in Vegas the end of May. It is our first trip, and we were interested in taking in an upscale burlesque show while there. We are not interested in the full nudity shows like are on Bourbon St, in New Orleans, but would like to see a classy show with some topless nudity, with key being a show. We had thought about Shades of Temptation as this show is supposed to feature both male and female cast members, but the reviews are not exactly what I would call spectacular. Has anyone seen this show or maybe a similar one that they could / would recommend. Also we are thinking about seeing Santana while there. This show seems to get all good reviews. Any suggestions about best seating for show, with key here being seating. We don't really want to stand for two hours or more. Thanks in Advance.

We loved Absinthe - fun, sexxy, entertaining.....only thing I did not like is that my seat got a little sore from the small wooden seat by end of the show. Very good views from all seating....Overall, a very fun night

Shades of Temptation - skip. If you want a show at the New York casino I would opt for Zumanity instead.

There are plenty of "tease" shows like Fantasy and Peepshow. However, if you want to see an old-fashioned full production Las Vegas show that features topless showgirls, then the only show that fits that description is Jubilee.

Although I have yet to see it Pin-ups at the Stratosphere is a burlesque show that has received good reviews.

I liked Zumanity, its upscale in the sense of pricey tickets, nice venue, and great production but the contents are off color.

I liked Absinthe too, it was upscale but not PC.

If you want upscale content, go with Jubilee. I haven't seen because I'm scared it will be like Folies Bergere which was super boring.

Fantasy was also boring IMO (with the exception of the comedian) and there were no male dancers :(

I may check out Peepshow next because the following discount:

Dear Sir,

I saw your post here and wanted to respond to you. I am a standing member/performer of the Las Vegas Burlesque community and I would like to point out a few things and clear a few things up. You mention that you are looking for some topless nudity while here in vacation and yes there are plenty of places to see that. But that is not Burlesque. That is a strip show. Burlesque is the tease of seduction with the final reveal being a woman wearing only her pasties and always something on the bottom. In Burlesque there is never a full reveal. If it is full nudity it is not a Burlesque performance. Most do not know this so when this was brought to my attention I had to respond. If you are looking for topless nudity then X Burlesque or Peepshow will provide that, they are strip shows. But if you want to see real honest to goodness Burlesque you should check with our local Burlesque community right here. While most shows are held in a more relaxed venue than the strip shows I can personally guarantee you'll have the best of times. We also have the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekender or the BHOF coming May 30th thru June 2nd at the Orleans. Now that is Burlesque and we will be hosting some of the most famous Burlesque performers in the world. You want a show? Come see this one. I hope this information help you out in your vacation plans. Pop a Pastie!

Thank you for your post, very informative. I'm not the OP, but am interested in taking my husband to a Burlesque show. I love the old Rosalind Russell/Natalie Wood movie about Gypsy Rose Lee. Corny, that is my only reference. Still I've seen that movie a jillion times and would to see a show in person!

We'll be in Vegas August 25th thru September 1st. So, where can I find information on a show(s) that you'd recommend. Thank you!

I appreciate your response, but I need to let you know that to me a woman wearing pastie's to cover her nipples, is still topless. As I said I am more interested in a good show, rather than a nude fest that is prevelant on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. My hope was to find a show that was classy that featured both male and female artists. That way there would be something that I would enjoy, and something the wife could enjoy.

Someone mentioned Absinthe, which is a great show and has barely dressed girls but it is not like a burlesque show. It is more of a variety/circus trick show. I saw it two years ago when the Cirque show we were going to see was sold out and I am very glad we did see it.

Keying on your two words, "upscale" and "burlesque," I would still stay with Jubilee. It has large production numbers, features specialty acts in-between the productions, and showgirls in elaborate topless costumes. Just don't go to the early show on Saturday or you will miss out on the topless part.

My vote goes for the late show of Jubilee, also.
