I haven't been to all of them so won't recommend, but I'd add that CUT is the only steakhouse in the ELV 50 Essential Restaurants book's Top 10 list.

My personal favorite is CUT. BUT...

If the evaluation is solely based on the quality of a normal steak, I suspect there's very little difference among the top 5 or 10 restaurants. Differences are more apparent when it comes to specialties, or side dishes, or atmosphere.

For example, CUT offers Japanese wagyu steaks; I haven't eaten there since they again became available last fall, but in the past the quality was excellent. Carnevino offers off-menu Riserva steaks that are aged eight months or more; while I wasn't overly impressed, some folks think they're wonderful.
