Pay or free, easist casino to get a drink?

One day we walked from the Strat. to the MGM,stopping and sipping along the way.By the time we were done i lost track of the service. Can anyone relate their experiences.

The Penny Lane part of the Riviera was the easiest place we found-got drinks in no time & plenty of them. If you go in the day go to the promotions desk & get a free drink token and free draw ticket for tickets to Splash (I won a pair of tickets and we had a lot of fun there!)

Thought the drink service was great everywhere at Caesar's. Horrible at Flamingo. Sat at the slots for over an hour and didn't see a soul. Barbary Coast and Casino Royale both good. Fantastic at the Strat, friendliest and fastest.

Must admit I was waiting to play a poker tournie at the Sahara and while waiting I went to use the phone to ring my family back home (phone near lots of slots which in itself is a strange place to put them, but didnt find many phones in "smart" locations)

Anyways I digress. While phoning I asked a waitress walking by if I could have a glass of milk. Now I asked politely and dont look like a bum or anything (actually felt overdressed in this place) and got a very sharp answer of "drinks are only for players"

I didnt even have a chance to reply as she shot past.

I was gobsmacked tbh. I spent most of my time up the strip at the MGM and Ceasers, but wanted to go here for the poker as I had heard good things. Shame you cant even get a drink of milk wihtout being made to feel like a freeloader.

Ironically I tip more than the milk actually costs from Wallmarts, but I dont drink alcohol and dont feel right not tipping the same as what most people tip. But I dont mind tipping for the service.

You were on the PHONE, not playing slots or table games, and flagged down a cocktail waitress for a drink? And you're surprised that you didn't get it?

All Las Vegas casinos, to my knowledge, continue to offer free drinks to people gambling at their establishments. But I don't know of any that offer free drinks to people just for being there, regardless of whether they're on the phone, coming in to have a meal, see a show, or whatever.

For me it was O'Sheas. TIpped $3 for the first and she was actually bugging me for the next few drinks (tipped $1) for those. They were STRONG, too.

Worst to get a drink was Mandalay Bay. I was there for werll over an hour. Never saw a waitress. Had the slot host and the "casino card guy" also try to get a waitress for me with not luck. Left shortly after that....

I came from the poker room to the payhpone and didnt flag her down, she was walking by.

Also it was fairly quiet and I just asked while she was on her way past. I didnt realise you could only order while sat at the machines or at the poker table.

I never had this problem anywhere else, infact at the MGM (where I spent most of my time) several times they came and asked me while I was outside the rail of the poker room and as I said before I did ask politely and wouldnt of thought a glass of milk was asking too much.

Again it seems strange to me that you would need to be sat down. I would understand if the logic behind it is too stop people freerolling, but there has to be common sense used surely.

For the record I never went back there after that visit, but that wasnt purely down to the lack of service.

Cheers

I agree on the Casino Royale,it was where we had the best service and the most fun. We land in Vegas Fri. @ 10:45 a.m. and as soon as we are checked in at the FLamingo we are going to head there for a bit-o-fun. Cheers everyone!!!!!
