Best hotel and how many nights?

Hi

As I'm a solo traveller (and not interested in gambling/dont particular drink) how many days would you suggest spending in vegas? I was thinking originally 4 nights=1 day travel (from the UK, arrive likely at 3pm first day / leave 6pm final day so need to account for this) then 2 days shopping (both in the hotels/outlets) and 1 day soaking up the atmosphere enjoying all the surreal hotels. Have read some things on the net which suggest i'll be bored with this long - are the hotels done in one day / lose their attraction after the novelty of it all? I loved new york and no matter how many times i went into times square it still had that magicness of it all but what people say suggest vegas isnt the same

Also if anyone can reccomend the best hotel (quite a good budget for travelling this time) for a single girl, wants safety, non smoking ideally but not essential and no mad nightclubs ideally as do want to get some sleep (to give me energy for walking the strip and shopping:)!

PS: Has anyone ever done a twin centre vegas and orlando? Managed to save a little more than I thought and not going till march/april next year so considering my options

Hi

I don't think thats too long as its a 1st trip. You will find it will take you far longer than you think to look at the big hotels. Plus it is very time consuming getting from one to another. Take Ceasars or Venetian, you can spend half a day in these hotels alone, just sightseeing. Las Vegas does have a magic to it, that's why people return year after year and not just for the gambling (yes alot do!).

I would think about staying at Venetian/Palazzo or Wynn. Very up market, treat yourself to a bit of luxury. As they are modern hotel's any smoke in the common area's is small. Some of the older one's do seem more smoky, although usually not heavy.

As for 2 center's, we always tour. So if you want to do 2 cities, do it. I would buy a plane ticket into Las Vegas and home from Orlando. Then buy a single to Orlando from Las with probably southwest air.

I agree not too long. I find a similar feeling as you mention to Times Square each trip I make to the Strip. Ive been 100's of times and it never gets old. Never.

That's definitely not too long, I was there 7 days last year and didn't get all the things done that I thought I would, like someone else has said some of the really big hotels you can be in for HOURS, there is so many things to see the time just runs away with you! :-)

Four nights will give you a taste of Vegas, so you will know what to see next visit.

I agree that Wynn is probably best, although Venetian/Palazzo would also be a good option.

Heachy,

As a Las Vegas addict, I have to say that Monte Carlo is the best value for your money. Not only is it reasonably priced, it's perfectly located on the strip with a FREE monorail that connects you as far north as the Bellagio (the Vdara, Aria, Cosmo, and Mandarin are in between MC and Bellagio). The rooms are classy, the casino isn't confusing, the cost isn't expensive and the staff is very accomodating. Although many other hotels have extremely beautiful rooms in comparison, I'd take the MC over those that promote their room, especially when you really only use the room to sleep. How much time do you really spend in your room? I personally don't go to Vegas to chill and sleep...rather break someone else's wallet. The best value is traveling from Tues to Sat (5days/4 nights). Although it may be cheaper to go from Tues to Fri, the additional cost to stay the additional night is marginal and well worth it (it's cheaper to fly OUT of Las Vegas on a Sat than a Fri). If money is not an issue, then I recommend the Bellagio or Caesars due to their central location and the classy accomodations. Hopefully that heps. Take care and God bless!

Hi

I have stayed at the Monte Carlo and have a couple of night booked there this year (compliments of myvegas). I have also stayed at Venetian, the quality of the 2 is quite different, total opposites. If you don't want a top hotel then the MC is just fine, but if you want a treat then go for Wynn/Venetian etc. Price difference will be big and there is a reason for that.

Please note that SavnOne just copies and paste the same response over and over. If you got the dough (cash) there's no way I'd stay at the MC. And I'd choose the Palazzo over the Venetian, it's the less hectic side of the same complex. You get the relaxed, but you're connected to the fascinatiing shops at the Venetiain. I personally find the Wynn/Encore complex kind of boring.

Astrofan,

Why rewrite what I believe? Of course I'm going to copy and paste. They are still legitimate responses to someone who otherwise hasn't ever read any of my posts. Why would that matter?

Now, please do some fun research and read the contributions of astrofan12. I'm not making any negative comments, just encouraging you all to see what I am talking about...LOL Take care and God bless!
