Rental car parking and SLR Backpack?

I am renting the car for 4 days during memorial day weekend. I will be roaming in Strip & downtown for 2 days. Planning to do day trip (2 say) to Grand canyon (west rim), Hoover dam and Red rock canyon.

Please let me know if there are many free parking areas or hotels in Strip and downtown?

I have a SLR backpack with 4 lenses and will it be a problem to carry it in hotels, casinos and attractions? Any experiences?

Almost all parking on the strip is free including valet. If you valet the car (often convenient, because the garages can be quite large), tip a few bucks when you get your car back.

The garages downtown sometimes have a charge. But you can often take your ticket to the cashier and stamp it with a machine and get a few hours free. More than once, we've exited a pay garage and found nobody there to collect any money.

The only problem you'll have with your backpack is the weight. It will be quite warm and that backpack may get heavy.
