Trip report - short from a first timer

Girls tripStayed at the Flamingo. Loved it for the money. My daughter was picked to be in a segment for the Billboard Music awards that was shot the Flamingo pool. Great pool and location, my room was perfectly fine-roomy and clean. Loved Freemont Street experience... a must do. I was really surprised at how far everything really is from where it seems on the strip. Saw Shania Twain concert at Ceasars..very good! If you are a Shania fan go see her! Restuarants are so expensive! Drinks are outrageous if you are not gambling. Can't see it all in 3-4 days. Next time I will stay down by the Monte Carlo so I can all that is down there. Bellagio fountains are really cool as everyone says. Mirage-loved the Beatles theme. Glad we went my daughters loved it. Had a great time with my kids, sister in laws and their kids. I thought it was very cool but overwhelming.

Congratulations on the first Vegas trip, looks like you had a ton of fun with your girls!

It took me at least 5-10 trips before I really figured out in general what Vegas had to offer as a whole, but even that I still get different experience every time I go (30+ total trips now, lost count).

I can't believe how addicted I am to Vegas, the gambling, the shows, the sportsbooks, the food, all in all it is just simply the best overall experience versus any other destination, and I'm a well traveled person to many countries and continents.

Welcome to the club, hope you enjoy your future trips!

"I thought it was very cool but overwhelming."

A very apt description of a Vegas 1st impression. I'm sure you enjoyed watching your daughter on TV tonight.

Thanks for the report.

Fun! I just went end of April with a 1st timer...it was my 3rd. We were there 4 days and it wasn't enough...so i'm going back solo beginning of June! Too cheap not to from Portland, OR. I need more pool days and fun. Thanks for the short/sweet TR, might make me brave enough to try and write one :)

Glad you had fun. Hard not to. The more you go,the more you will learn. You can eat fairly cheap in Vegas but it takes a bunch of trips and some research to know where the various places are.
