Palazzo vs. Elara

Planning a trip to Vegas next weekend (June 13-17) with one other guy and two girls (all of us are 21), and we've narrowed our choices to the standard luxury suite at the Palazzo and the one bedroom suite at the Elara (both are approximately the same price).

Which one would be better? Originally I was leaning towards the Palazzo, but I've drifted more towards the center since being exposed to some of the features of the rooms at the Elara (such as the 8 foot HD projector and the in-room jacuzzi).

Elara. Just stayed there and absolutely LOVED it. No casino, but it's connected to Planet Hollywood via the Miracle Mile Shops so you can shop and eat at any of the many restaurants there. If you can, try to get a two bedroom suite and a strip view.

Second vote for Elara, never been to Palazzo, however Elara's location square footage and attached mall make it the best. If you could talk your way into a corner 2 bedroom, suite that. would be awesome. Let us know a bit more about your needs, and we can help you choose.

No real "needs," per se, but of course we'd like a little bit of space since there's 4 of us. I think the Elara comes out a little bit less but I've seen more of a mixed bag of reviews for the Elara and mostly all positive reviews for the Palazzo.

How many people do you intend to have per room?

I have booked both hotels for the same week in September and done a stack of research. Are girls staying in your bed? (if so, awesome!) if not, and each person is to have a bed then max you can put in a suite in palazzo is 3 people and in a 1 bedroom at elara is 2. If you go for a two or three bedroom apartment at elara, then palazzo will certainly be cheaper. Did I mention that both scenarios involve the use of a fold out couch

We have booked one night in palazzo and the other four nights of our trip in elara as having a separate door/living space was the better option. In palazzo everyone is in the one room and no privacy (this may be a plus or a minus depending on the girls lol jkz)

Hope this helps

Well out of courtesy it's more than likely going to be the girls who share the king bed and me and the other guy sharing the sofa bed (since it's queen sized) in either hotel.

Thought about the privacy factor in terms of the Elara, but I'm not sure how I feel about being off the strip and the pool scene at the Elara vs at the Palazzo.

Elara. We stayed in a 2 bed suite 2 couples and privacy isn't an issue at all. The hot tub is small but decent and the rooms are incredible. So much space. Staff are friendly and pool is good!

How many people can usually fit in the hot tub at once? It looks a lot bigger than most of the other hot tubs I've seen. And have you stayed in the Palazzo before?

Sounds nice!

Unfortunately I'm even more stuck now... I just knew that I'd be hearing more Palazzo's than Elara's here, and so far that isn't the case.

I stayed in a standard luxury suite at the Palazzo last week and liked it but I think the three of you might prefer Elara. I've never stayed at Elara, but I think the scene at PH would be more your style than Palazzo, which is pretty quiet and grown-up for the most part. The casino there always seems quiet to me, whereas PH has much more of a party vibe. And the Palazzo room decor is kind of dark and old-fashioned in style and the bath, while it's nice and deep, is no hot tub and really only designed for 1. If you can get a suite at Elara that gives you a bedroom separate from the living area, you'd get much more privacy there too - the Palazzo rooms are open, with the sitting area separated from the bedroom only by a low wall and a couple of steps. And unless you think having to walk through the Miracle Mile shops to get to the strip is a pain, Elara's location is better too. I thought the staff at the Palazzo were great and the service really good (I have read less than great reviews about Elara too) but I still think an Elara suite will probably suit you better.
