Not feeling my MGM Grand reservations at all....

Have reservations for MGM for Aug 19-24 in a king executive suite. For some reason I am not content with this hotel /room type now that I booked it. Booked it through 3rd party so canceling may be a headache. Tried upgrading to mgm spa suite but had no luck. Was told I may be able to upgrade upon check in. Not content with that! This is our honeymoon and really want to blow my new wife away with accommodations. Anybody know of any great deals for that time frame? Not a cheapskate but don't have unlimited funds either. Really would like a hot tub in room. Any ideas /suggestions?

Start by checking if its refundable. Many 3rd party are not. Unless you plan to pay for two sets of accommodations it's moot unless you can get this one refunded

Hot tub in the room is pretty cool in Branson, but really not neccessary in Vegas. Put the MGM in any other city and it would blow peoples minds. I think it will be fine...

If you can get the refund, that changes things...

May want to check Aria. Corner Suite would be pretty awesome.

"New meaning we will have just gotten married the day before we arrive!"

"New" means, to steal from WC Fields, she hasn't been unwrapped yet.

I'm sure you will like MGM. It is a solid 3 star hotel.

That being said it wouldn't be my choice for a special trip. Instead of paying extra for a mini-suite with a jetted tub I would upgrade to a nicer hotel, where the standard rooms (without spa) are all very nice. Any of the hotels built after MB/Venetian/Bellagio have luxury bathrooms that are very impressive.

Consider Aria,Venetian, Wynn or Cosmo it within budget. For this trip you want something memorable.

If you can get out of your reservation at the MGM I would say spring for a Fountain View room at the Cosmo - we stayed there recently and were upgraded from a Studio to a One Bedroom. The Cosmo is brand new and the views of the Bellagio fountain and the strip are amazing. No hot tub but the Cosmo is the only hotel on the strip that has terraces - which was my favorite place to hang out during our down time. It was funny - we could tell when people were checking in around us by the way they screamed the first time they saw the view. We visited the MGM while we were there and felt the hotel was a little dated - didn't explore the entire property but the common areas (lobby, casino and food court) felt crowded and old.
