Vegas Comments/Compliants/Question That Drive You Nutty....?

Over the cross of several years...I have noticed on this forum comments/complaints/questions that are very silly. Now I know folks are trying to find things out.....and I applaud their bravery. And yet there is a part of me in a world that is sooo interactive...most questions can be found thru a Search Feature!?!

One that sticks out....is the common complaint about smokey casinos in a city that allows such things. Or what casino is kid friendly.....Vegas and kids...oh well....lol

Comps are a common complaint....and yet given that Vegas is on the rebound...and you cannot always get things for free! Those days might be gone...so let's move on!

The one question I found very funny was...." What are the misquitoes like in LV?"

How about...."Where can I find a cash machine in Vegas....?"

So for those that are seasoned vets...what are your funniest, silliest questions, complaints, comments etc??? And let's keep it light.......!

It's hard for vets to not become jaded, I suppose....but just cuz we know cash machines are plentiful and the answers to many other common questions doesn't mean newbies are aware. I'd hope if I was travelling somewhere for the first time and asked an innocent question that someone would be ki d enough to provide me guidance and not snigger too much.

There is one question that gets to me, though. Not because it's a bad question but because it makes my skin crawl. Yep... The jetted tub advice. The only response that comes to my mind is ewwwww. But because I respect the right of individuals to stew themselves in the nastiness deposited in the tub from others along with the festering germs in the stale pipe water, I generally refrain from answering it. But I have to go shower ever time the question comes up.

This sounds like a "let's make fun of the newbies with stupid questions" thread. And while I'm always up for making fun of newbies and stupid questions (and from non-newbies too), I'm not up for discussing it.

Questions don't bother me, no matter how common they are. Because to the poster it is a new question.

Besides one of the things that keeps this forum interesting is that you never know when someone might actually ask something new. For instance yesterday someone asked if he could take drinks OUT OF THE POOL. That makes the official score: "Can I bring or sneak drinks INTO the pool" 1,000,000 and "Can I sneak drinks OUT of the pool" 1.

All questions are valid but not all comments are. I'm fed up of the xenophobia aimed at 'foreigners'. I've even been told not to visit the US, as have many other posters. Others have been told they don't have the right to comment. Overseas visitiors (foreigners now being a very dated term, generally used as abusive, unfortunately) don't know everything but that's why we ask questions so we can learn eg tipping and jaywalking.

I also don't like the assumption that I don't know how to behave just because I am not a local. Strangely, I don't need to be told not to urinate in public ;-)

And the grammar/spelling police and mockers need to go to Vegas to loosen up!

But I loved learning about jaywalking. Not a crime over here so very useful to know, as are all the restaurant posts. If I don't want to answer or even read another question about (insert common query), I just ignore it.

I've booked to go to Vegas next April as part of our honeymoon and I've been looking on here since we booked in March and new and original questions are becoming fewer and fewer but seeing people's different perspectives on things is still really helpful

Suppose the biggest complaint is people being lazy when the questions they want to ask was just asked minutes ago on another thread

Also snidy answers also grate on me some seem to come on here just to unleash there inner smart ar£e! But at the same time I always look out for answer from people like Ktinca and Rhinoman and Jacob TR saga was good fun so it's all good

"How much to tip?"

This is a question that comes up daily and its silly reading all the different answers to it.

" Comps are a common complaint....and yet given that Vegas is on the rebound...and you cannot always get things for free! Those days might be gone...so let's move on"

Those days are not gone, its just going slowly back to the real way comps are given, to people who deserve them by gambling not by gimmicks or by marketing comps to bring people in.

All of the questions are valid to those who are asking them, so I try not to comment on those that are truly asinine. Instead I'll type a response such as "how can you ever even leave your house since you're so...." and then hit the back button instead of 'Post your reply'.

Some of the answers from the 'veterans' are more grating. "Vastly superior" is one that gets under my skin, along with "the proper" when referencing the Grand Canyon... and then there's the incorrect use of then and than, your, you're, they're, their, there...One poster in particular can use the wrong version of their, there, they're, in the same sentence.

Off to therapy....;)

"Where should we stay?" With no further information. Those drive me nutty.

The search function is not really that good, so I understand why someone might still want to ask a question, even after they may have tried using it.

If I responded to every Comment/Complaint/Question with what I was really thinking, I would probably have well over 20,000 posts. Fortunately, I hit the BACK button more often than not.
