girls trip to vegas, need advice on rooms!!!!

My girlfriends and I are going to vegas sept 26-oct 1 and we cannot seem to make a decision on the hotel. We're in our mid 20's, want to stay some place in the middle of everything, nightlife, shows...all the things you want to do in vegas without going bankrupt. Harrah's is on the table, Treasure Island as well...but I seem to see Venetian coming up in a lot of the blogs....HELP!

You are in the right area in my opinion - the "middle" of the strip. It is my understanding that the Venetian is pricier. You mention not wanting to go bankrupt. I have stayed at New York New York (back when it was new - don't know if it is gone downhill or not), The Excalibur (never again - clean but shoddy), and most of all the Mirage. I think the Mirage is a great one - the casino is small, which is great to try to find your travel companions if some one decides to go down and gamble while others are still getting ready. But I'm in my 40s and go most often with my parents :) However, I think if I were in my 20s, I'd pick the Mirage over Treasure Island because of the pool and b/c the rooms are great.

Are there particular shows or nightclubs you are interested in? Do you have a particular budget?

Some variety! IMO Harrahs is a 2 star property, TI is 3 star, and Venetian 4 star. And this is reflected in their rates.

You will be there in Prime pool season. Is the pool important? If so Venetians is the nicest, although TI's probably the most lively. Also the spa at Venetian is vastly superior.

There is also a big difference in the size of these rooms. Venetian's rooms are much larger, and nicer, than TI's or Harrahs. So if you are talking more than 2 in a room it would be the much better choice.

Great advice! There is 3 of us, we want stay in as close to the area of 750-800 for the room as possible, but this is my first trip out without going as a fam...so if that is unrealistic so be it. lol, so far ive been looking at southwest vacations for booking...seems like thatd be the best deals especially when it comes to the flights.

As far as nightclubs...i hear the Marquee is pretty great, but im literally open to any suggestions. We like all kinds of music, party a lot at places like 'the pool' if youre familiar with atlantic city. like to party with a crowd that can dress up but still have a good time, current music, lots of dancing...

And as far as shows go, I hear 'O' is a must see...still have a lot of research to do with activities when we get there, but deciding on the right room is hard enough lol

...I had another suggestion for the New Yorker too...heard its in the center of a lot, lots of clubs & activities, also hear Treasure Island is surprisingly hip. Ive heard for the rate of the Mirage, we would probably have more fun at Planet Hollywood.....

see im just all over the place! lol there is 3 of us...we definitely arent wanting to stay any where less than 3 stars (and thats pushing it) but we also dont plan on spending a ton of time in our room either. So we are not too worried about the size, but really want something clean, comfortable, in the center of it all, that still offers a little luxury.

If its prime pool weather than we would certainly like a place with a nice pool...but pools not a deal breaker for us...

New Yorker seems to be coming more and more. Harrahs is knocked out the running

I guess the now the question is...

As far as overall cleanliness, mixed with nightlife, location etc...would we be just as comfortable at say the New Yorker or Treasure Island VS Venetians ???

Yes theres only 3 of us, but we dont want to be some place well have to worry about 'keeping it down' or find ourselves across from someone who reminds us of our grandparents lol

trip objective is eat at different places, lots of drinks, PARTY, shows, shop...maybe take a dip in the pool in between if this time

Best bet is to tell us your budget say per night for the hotel. That way you will get better suggestions.

Some people can say they dont want to spend alot when that means 80 bucks a night to them, others will mean 250 a night.

You will get great suggestions but it all depends on how much you want to spend :) Of your initial 3 hotels as Ktinca pointed out Venetian is miles ahead.

I think the cosmopolitan would suit your needs completely but again depends on cost :)

Enjoy

If you haven't already done so, then check for promo codes on this website: http://smartervegas.com/

The codes for Venetian don't extend out to your dates, however, there are a number of others for various hotels that may work for your groups budget. Also, oyster.com is a good website to view pictures of hotel rooms, pools, etc., which is often helpful when trying to compare properties.

Wed like to keep it around 150 avg rate if that's feasible...but I don't know how realistic that is for the environment were looking for...

Doesn't have to be the 4seasons as we don't intend on spending that much time in our room, but we do want to be comfortable and in the center of it all

If you use the Friends and Family code (see above smartervegas link), then Planet Hollywood would be within your budget.

My first trip to Vegas was a girls' trip and we stayed at Planet Hollywood and while the location is great, the pool most certainly is not. That is the weekend my hubby and I usually go and it's definitely pool weather so keep that in mind when making your choice if it is important to you. If it's between NYNY, TI and Venetian, pick the Venetian. Definitely go with the Cosmo if it's in your budget. Mirage would be a good choice as well, although the bathrooms are supposedly very small if you're going to be sharing one room.
