Your Thoughts on the Cosmopolitan Hotel

Hello,

I am planning a trip to Vegas and will be staying at this hotel. I would appreciate any feedback you have, things to do at this hotel, bars, etc. Thank you!

They have been having a great incentive to sign up for their players club for a long time. Not sure if they still have it , but worth looking into if you're there anyway.

$100 free play to match you $100 loss.

If they still have it, be sure to understand the loss timeframe if you don't gamble that much in a day.

its a nice place, but not my type of crowd. some of the restaurants get great reviews, one of the best buffets. the rooms have balconies which is special, and great fountain views are to be had with the right room. good location, upscale joint. again, just not my crowd of people. way too many young people in there for me. you know, the attention whores, the brats with daddy's money, the meatheads with their popped collars, that jersey shore wannabe type crowd.

not saying i would never get a room there, i just wouldnt hang out there very much even if i were to stay there.

Yes if your idea of a good time in Vegas is geriatrics rolling around on scooters, Jimmy Buffet blaring from the speakers and people wearing socks with their sandals don't hang out at the Cosmo. I have never personally popped a collar or watched Jersey Shore but I could spend days hanging out at Cosmo, eating in some of their fantastic restaurants and chilling in their gorgeous suites.

The rooms are amazing and the Wickedspoon buffet excellent but there's just no atmosphere in the rest of the place in my view very sterile but everyone's different

As others have said, the rooms(fountain view ones) are for me, the best on the strip. The beds are to die for and are the best of any hotel around the world ive been in. Location wise, you cant really get much better as its right in the centre of the action. Chandelier Bar is superb place to start off a night with varied cocktails over varied levels.

Great restaurants that could easily take care of a 5 day stay should that be your choice.

Negatives

Gambling isnt the greatest as table limits are typically higher than most casinos. I really dislike the pool area as it does tend to be full of pretentious wannabe's.

We love the Cosmo - have stayed there twice and will again

Seen review here tripadvisor.com.au/…review165709330

And my full trip report here: tripadvisor.com.au/ShowTopic-g45963-i10-k660…

The rooms are amazing - it's worth paying extra for a fountain view terrace. Great location. We've eaten at Jaleos (awesome!), Holsteins, China Poblano, the Henry and Overlook Grill. All good, would definitely eat at Jaleos again and Holsteins shakes are a must-try.

Excellent cocktail service on the casino floor too - love the lemon drop martinis, Long Island iced teas and espresso martinis.

Enjoy!

I really can't stand the crowd that hangs out at the Cosmo after about 8-9pm...but, I have never heard anyone say they were disappointed with the rooms. Also, I do love the drinks at the Chandelier Bar and Vesper.

Best place to stay in Vegas IMO. Yes a lot of young people hang out there but they have never caused a problem or bothered me in any way and I have spent about 60 nights there.

Location - fantastic. I love the location.

Rooms - okay. Certainly not the same level as Wynn, the Four Seasons or Mandarin Oriental. The furnishings are cheap and almost border on tacky. If you're a 24 year-old who has never traveled outside of Idaho, you may think the rooms are luxurious. I think they are just okay. The terraces, however, are awesome.

Service - awful. My room was filthy. The front desk clerks were indifferent. I will say that the guys working at the pizza place are awesome. We were on a first name basis by the end of my four night stay.

Atmosphere - I like it and I don't. I live in a big city, so I can have that sort of thing any time at a place like Paris Club. One strong point of Cosmo is well crafted cocktails. There are a few bars who really take cocktails seriously and I appreciate that.

Would I stay here again? I'm not sure. I like luxury and I like excellent service. For me personally, I don't think Cosmo provides either/or. The Mandarin Oriental and Four Seasons are usually similarly priced, and at that price point, $200 a night, I'd choose one of those over Cosmo.

I have never had the pleasure of being able to stay there but I spend a lot of time there just hanging out. One day maybe I will get to stay there.

I really like the secret pizza place upstairs (but I get a coke at Walgreens since their sodas are pricey) and the free live music that they have. Check out their website for times and locations for their free music and other events that you pay for. They have dive in movies on Mondays (I haven't been able to go to these yet) that I think are free for hotel guests. Make sure to sign up for their players club program before you check in. I have heard that you get points for different things that you do there including staying there, not just for gambling. And check to see if they still have the promotion for loosing $100 in 24 hours, I won $400 with that promotion last year.

I am jealous. Have a great time!!!
