Signature at MGM

Hi Guys, need a quick opinion, on the way back from my Daughters wedding on Hawaii next April we are spending 4 nights in Vegas, our travel agent has recommended and sold us on a Suite at the above.

However after getting home and looking at reviews on here which are highly favourable there does seem to be a doubt in our minds about this type of property and its apparent distance from the Strip.

Our travel agent says we can look at other options but neither of us can decide what, my wife seems to favour the hustle and bustle of a big hotel as she seems to think this is like staying in a high rise block of flats? but as the travel agent says you could line up all the main hotels in Vegas on a wall and throw a dart and no matter where it landed it would be a good hotel!

We are in our mid 50s so we are not party animals but not wanting it dead either?

Please help!!!

I have stayed here and am staying again in August. It is a 5 to 10 minute walk to the strip but the rooms and amenities are wonderful. If you have never been to Vegas before you might consider something right on the strip, but no matter where you stay in Vegas, you are always going to have to walk. I love the Signature and generally speaking for the price you can't beat it.

Ditto above! Been to Vegas 4 times, last twice has been at the Signature and looking to stay there again when we go at Xmas this year.

The rooms are amazing (stayed in the jr suite our first time and 1 bed last time there) and if you can get a high floor, strip facing room the view can be great. All 3 buildings are lovely (been in tower 3 and tower 1 so far) and the service is a cut above, it's never more than 5 minutes to wait for your car (once waited 25 mins at Planet Ho) and its a lovely serene atmosphere, which you sometimes need after a day on the strip!

The walk is nothing, 5 mins to the back of the MGM and 8 minutes from tower 3 to the Miracle Mile entrance at Planet Ho, we once stayed at Caesars ( spa suite in palace tower was fab) but it took over 10 minutes to get to the front door so don't worry about that if you're both able bodied.

Hope you have an amazing time wherever you end up!

Thanks guys, I noticed in the reviews someone mentioned travelators between the blocks and the MGM and looking at google earth you can see some sort of covered tunnel between each block? Is this what these are?

We are able bodied so that is not the issue but just my wife thinks we will be staying in an apartment block and not feel like we will be part of the MGM complex or experience.

I can't even say how much these suites are costing us as it is all part of a package for everything including flights hotels and transfers for the whole wedding and they cannot give us a breakdown, just that this is the best deal as opposed to an ordinary hotel room.

I think it's very nice and we enjoyed our stay there a few years ago. It is a few minutes to a casino either way you exit, but some of these other large hotels are so spread out, they are not much different (Caesar's or MGM itself for example).

When I stayed at the Signature I did feel like we were a little isolated from the Strip - but it really is not that far and yes there is a covered and fully enclosed walkway from MGM. We did really like the Signature rooms. Had we been gambling at MGM I probably would have felt more connected to the casino. But we were with friends staying at PH so that was where we gambled more often. The PH casino is really just as close to Signature as the MGM casino - but the walk is outdoors and fairly isolated so it was not a walk that I felt comfortable having my wife take alone at night when she was done gambling and I wanted to stay out. But, had we been gambling at MGM that would not have been an issue with the enclosed walkway.

Yes, it is a covered walkway and there are people movers along the route. There is even a bar along the way. I never felt like I was "missing" something by having to walk.

It's a beautiful, peaceful hotel. When you get off the elevators, it will be dead. You have to go 5-10 minutes to get to the action. If that's not what your wife wants, book someplace else.

Thanks guys, not a gambler so distance between casinos is irrelevant, probably go in to a few to soak up the atmosphere and throw a couple of bucks on the machines but that's about it, I am a Scotsman after all!!!

A bar along the walkway? Now you are talking LOL.

Have shown my better half your comments and unless the travel agent comes back with something exceptional then we will probably just go with this.
