Mob Museum and Fremont St

Originally, our plan was to do these both in the day. However, I've read a bit more about Fremont St and it seems that it is a better place to go at night - is that right?

So what I am thinking now is to go to the mob museum in the early eve (website says open until 7, so probably go about 4/5 - how long would you recommend we need there?) then head to Fremont St for an hour or two.

We are going early October, so wondered if the light shows start earlier then?

Any advice on how long etc to spend downtown would be great. We have a car, so could drive (from MGM), but are also open to getting a bus/cab if that would be easier!

Mob Museum is great and I would allocate three hours there if you want to see everything. The light show schedule is on the FSE experience website so check that out just before your trip and base your plans around it.

Unless you're planning on a little gambling, I would just hang out on Fremont Street in the evening after visiting the museum and not spend more time Downtown in the daytime. Unless you also want to visit the Neon Museum which is also excellent but that could be a case of museum overkill in one day!

I did exact same thing last October. Hit the museum and then over to Fremont. I think I was at the museum around 3PM and spent about 2 to 2.5 hours there. Then there was enough time to wander around inside a bunch of the older casinos, chat with a bunch of the local characters and gamble a bit before it got dark. If I am not mistaken the laser shows start at 7PM. I watched the first one and then made my way back to the strip with plenty of time to park the car, have a drink and hit the 9:30 show at my hotel.

If you have a car you might as well use it. My hotel was at the North end of the strip but if it were me staying at the MGM I would scoot over to one of the other roads and go south and avoid the strip traffic.

Hi

Yes, go mid afternoon, visit the museum, then have a meal and enjoy a few hours on Fremont.

Try triple 7 brew pub in Main St Station, good food and beer.
