Vegas in February

We are staying in Vegas for our 25 Year Anniversary 10 Feb 2014. We haven't booked our hotel yet but are looking to stay central strip area

What is Vegas like in February?

We have been reading reviews and noticed it often mentions that the hotel pools are crowded, is this typical of Vegas any time of the year or just summer months? Could anyone recommed a hotel that is known to not have a crowded pool area please?

We are looking to do the Canyon by helicopter, any useful trips/recommendations with approximate costs would be appreciated

Pools won't be open in early February so that's not a concern, because it's still too cold for swimming.

Vegas will be less busy when you're there, but still busy. The Super Bowl will be the weekend before and that's a huge weekend in LV, so there should be less traveling during your time.

Not all pos are open in feb. Paris pool stays open and I think one of Caesars. Not sure about others. I'm not much of a Vegas pool person so do t stay informed about winter pools. I have taken my son to the pool once in feb, though given most ppl find it too cold to swim in Vegas in feb pools will not be near as crowded.

Feb is my favorite time to visit as its warm enough to escape my Canadian winter, but not so warm I'm uncomfortable. I'm not a heat lover at all. Whether you'll hit warm enough weather for pool time in early feb is iffy. I'd be ok in the pool with temps 16 celcius or above, but many wouldn't and u won't always find it even that warm in eay feb

You may need to pack your snow umbrella if you're going to Vegas In February.

Personally I like the 100+ degree heat of the summer.

I wouldn't consider going to Vegas in February.

We have been the last 3 years in a row in Feb. Pools have not been open that I know of the 2nd or into 3rd week. It has been 50's to 70's during the day and 40's - 60's at night. It has been less busy on weekdays and by thursday it is starting to get busier and weekends quite busy.

I went to Vegas end of jan beginning of feb and found it be warm enough for the pool and for shorts or summer dresses which drew a few funny looks. It was about as hot as hot as a Scottish summer. Stayed at the mirage and their small pool was open, main pool was having work done.

We went to Vegas this past February. The pool at our hotel (The JW Marriott which isn't on the Strip) was not open. I liked it better in February than I did this past week in late July/early August because it was so damned hot you could barely breathe. In February we walked around more and really had a better time going from one casino to the next and dining out at night. Have a great time~!

Read the Top Questions section of this forum for a good overview of visiting Grand Canyon from Vegas. Be aware that any helicopter trip out of Vegas won't take you to the national park where you'll find the scenery that's presumably inspired you to want to visit GC in the first place, but to Grand Canyon West.

As others have said, pools aren't an issue in February. You may get lucky and have one or two warmer days but chances are you won't. Bring coats/jackets for the evenings.

Any time of the year is great in Vegas!

Check out for conventions in February though. I am a Re/Max agent and our big North American conference is usually around mid to the end of February. This year it was at the MGM Grand, last couple of years at Mandalay Bay. Not everyone stays at the convention hotel. Our rather large, loud and boisterious group numbers in the many thousands. The rooms at the convention hotel and those surrounding it are not that cheap. Just a litte FYI!

Like Sheila, our convention also is in Feb and leads to a noticable crowd . I dont think the pools have ever been used by our groups, but we make our presence known in the overpriced restaurants. At least it isnt so hot and you can walk back to your hotel even half way down the strip.
