Parking Question

I am staying at Stratosphere. I checked map and it seems Stratosphere in between Freemont (1.8 miles) and The Strip (2.5 miles). Both side are little far to walk.

Where should I park my car at Freemont and where at Strip ?

Are parkings chargeable at either of places ?

I would leave your car parked at the Stratoshere and take the bus, in either direction to downtown or other strip hotels!

Will buses be operating in night also ?

I will be new to this place. Will it be easy to find, which bus will go to Freemont or Srip and while coming bus, which bus can drop me to my Hotel ?

The Deuce bus operates 24 hours a day and has a stop at Stratosphere and runs to the Strip/Fremont St.

Car Parking is free at most hotels - just tip the valet if you use that service.

Bus (Deuce) stops right outside Strat in both directions to Strip and Downtown. $6 or $8 for 24h. rtcsnv.com / Transit.

Parking is free everywhere in self parking garages. Or valet with tip.

Parking is free all over. Every hotel has a self-park and a free valet (but tip the attendant if you use the valet). Some of the downtown locations do require you to get a parking slip stamped at the casino cashier for the parking to be free - but that is not difficult.

Don't drink and drive - but if you have a car that will be much more convenient than taking the bus.

If I opt for driving my car, how bad will be the traffic ?

I am from India, where sometimes I used to stand in middle of traffic for one hour :-)

"If I opt for driving my car, how bad will be the traffic ? " - The strip can get busy which slows down the bus , a car might be better so you can take other routes but it means no drinking.

My experience with Indian traffic is in Bangalore. Vegas is a piece of cake in comparison. From the Stratosphere to downtown or the strip is 10-15 minutes at the most. If you try to drive down the strip on a Friday or Saturday night it will be much slower. If you really want to get somewhere, take the back streets and come into the hotel from the back. OTOH, I think its fun to cruise down the strip even if the traffic is slow.

Parking downtown isn't usually free. The hotels charge a few bucks. But most of them have validation that's good for a few hours. Take the parking ticket to the main cashier and they usually have a machine. And more often than not if I've been there late in the evening there's nobody collecting the money when you leave.

So, first I should go to Freemont from Hotel. Park there in some Hotel. Then pick car and go to Strip, park ther in some Hotel. That is the order, I should follow ?
