First timer waffling between Wynn and Venetian...suggestions

We're coming to Vegas Oct 30-Nov 4. We're going to a wedding at Treasure Island with reception at the Palms. I've never been to Vegas, wifey has been a couple of times. We're used to reasonably upscale travel, but not over the top...definitely foodies. We pretty much have narrowed our hotel selection to the Wynn and Venetian. Price difference is negligable, most friends have suggested we go with the Wynn, what are your thoughts? Is either one much more expensive in terms of anciallary items (on site restaurants, amenities, etc?) Either pool area much better than the other? How about service? Any other considerations?

Oh... I forgot to answer the question.

I've stayed at both and think they are great casino resorts. I think I prefer Wynn because the casino is less crowded and the property is a manageable size. That being said, I think for a first time visitor Venetian really offers that "wow-only-in-Vegas" experience. Plus Venetian's standard rooms are much larger than Wynn's. The only drawback to Venetian is that it is a HUGE complex and it attracts huge crowds.

Wynn is the more luxurious hotel. Not much question about that. although many like the Venetian rooms. Venetian has more dining options at all price levels, especially the lower end with 2 food courts. But both have restaurants to please a foodie

The pool probably won't be a factor then, although you may be able to lounge in the afternoon sun We prefer the pool at Wynn.

Both are 4 star hotels and offer that level of service and ameneties. My wife greatly prefers the Spa at Wynn over Canyon Ranch, but that is mostly personal preference.

We've stayed at Wynn more often than Venetian, but either is a good choice.

I agree Wynn is more upscale, Venetian more touristy, but still a great place.

I would stay at the Wynn.

By the way, I'm not convinced that it is really her. I think maybe it's him !!
