Where to stay?

My husband and I are going to be taking our first trip to Las Vegas next June or July (2014). We have been doing a good deal of online research trying to figure out where to stay. We have not been able to make a decision thus far. I wanted to get some input from some of y'all who have gone to Las Vegas and have first hand knowledge.

We are in our early 30's. This will be our alone time without our kids. We plan to stay about 6 or 7 days. We have been saving for this trip for 7 years so we have enough money to stay somewhere nice (200-400 per night). The hotel's casino is not a huge issue for us. The hotel room, hotel pools, hotel restaurants and overall atmosphere are very important. We (I for sure) plan on lounging around the pool for hours on end each day so the hotel's pool(s) are important for us. We do plan on indulging in many adult beverages while at the pool, but we are not looking for any type of Daytona Beach Spring Break MTV atmosphere either. I am a personal trainer and my husband is a gym rat so we want to stay somewhere with a decent gym (free weights) so we can workout at 0900 and be sitting by the pool on our buttocks at 1100.

We really would appreciate any guidance. Misty

You could do the Bellagio. Remember that Fri and Sat nights are more expensive. You might be able to get the Wynn with what you have budgeted. Those would be my top chioces.

I'd suggest the Encore which gives you access to the pools at both Encore and Wynn, staying at Wynn does not get you access to Encore pools.

It's a bit quieter than most major strip hotels but everything about the hotel and it's amenities are top rate.

I'm going to suggest Caesars. It has one of the prime pool set ups on the strip, You could almost go to a different pool everyday. Very nice rooms. Tons of great dining choices. But that's not why I'm suggesting it. It's going to be very, very, very hot when you go. Caesars has many different choices all under one air conditioned roof. I stayed at the Wynn, loved the hotel, just hated the location. They have a limited number of pricey restaurants. Only saving grace is the shopping mall across the street. Caesars is a big, sprawling resort but it sounds like physically you can handle that.

I know this is none of my business, but are you sure Las Vegas is where you want to go? You say you have been saving for 7 years and casinos arent important. Maybe its just me because Im in Las Vegas so often but it would be nowhere near the top of my list of places to go had I been saving and waiting so long to go on a vacation. Why not a great Caribbean Island, Mexican Resort or Hawaii?

Going to Las Vegas is on the top of our Bucket list. We love the sun (live in the Deep South). We love to people watch. My husband loves to eat.

Stay on Strip from Mandalay Bay - Wynn. Mandarin Oriental, Palazzo should also be considered. Class act's.
