Las Vegas Buffet

Hi - we are 2 families travelling to Vegas - 4 adults and 3 children (9-11yrs) wanting suggestions for a great buffet restaurant for dinner. Looking for great food and nice atmosphere - would love to have some a wide variety of foods - crab/seafood for the adults and also simple food for the kids.

Thanks in advance

On the Strip you generally get what you pay for with buffets and if you're looking for a "great" one then stick to the top-end more expensive offerings that you'll find at Wynn, Caesars, Bellagio and Cosmopolitan. I've no idea if any of these have kids' prices. Top quality buffets will very possibly be wasted on children as young as the ones in your party.

There are some options off-Strip that may be good for you if you'll have a car.

Most of the buffets will at the least have pizza. To me it's lousy, but children usually like it. Bacchanal at Caesars offers discount pricing for children aged 4-12, under 3 is free. Bellagio and Wynn don't appear to have discounts for children except those under three years old, (free @ B, discount @ Wynn). Keep in mind that a lot of the food at the higher end buffets in most kids' (and also a lot of adults') eyes can lean toward exotic, but there will be roasted turkey, ham, beef, assorted potatoes, salad, breads, and plenty of eye popping dessert selections.

You can take a look at prices here: http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/buffets.cfm

The generally accepted "Top Buffets" these days are Caesars, Wynn, Bellagio, and Cosmopolitan. None are bargains in any sense of the word and although the kids will have plenty to eat, you'll still be paying for a lot of stuff they won't.

I'd consider a run off strip. Orleans, just west of the strip and Main Street Station downtown are both reasonably priced options. A bit further afield, M Resort's Studio B is very good, though more expensive than the other two.
