Casino temperature

Is it cold in the casinos? We will be there September 11-13.

I realize it is hot outside and you have to go out to go from casino to casino, but in the casinos is it chilly?

There are dozens of casinos on the Strip. It's hard to generalize about them. Some are, some aren't. Also depends on what you consider cold.

Most of the newer casinos are comfortable, but there are times when I've been seated at a slot machine which is under a vent/fan/duct (whatever it's called) and I have been freezing. In that case I'll move somewhere else, or if the machine is good, then I don't mind suffering a bit.

Hi

From my experience I feel that in recent years they have turned the air con down a bit. Must have saved them a fortune. IMO its better, I had to cover up going inside before but it's OK now in general. Only place to us that feels like sitting in a fridge is the restaurants.

I don't think that is a question that can be answered. I have seen so many situations where most are comfortable, but one person is hot. Or most are comfortable and one person is cold.

I suggest that you might carry a light sweater or jacket if you tend to get cold easily. If you get hot easily, I'm not sure what to tell you to do.

What do you consider chilly? For me personally it is freezing in casinos year round. I always take sweaters and blazers. That way I can layer. Sometimes you can be on a machine or a table where air is blowing directly on you then it is really chilly ..

I think I googled temp in casinos once, and saw where they keep temps 68-70 degrees. That is way to cold for my liking. If I really get chilled I step outside and thaw!!!!

Thanks for the responses. When we are at El Dorado and Horseshoe in Shreveport, we are usually chilly and I wear long sleeved shirts. So, just trying to plan the packing. I'll just throw in a few long sleeved shirts and go from there. Thanks again for the help.

I found most of them very cold when we were there last week. We wore long pants, long sleeve shirts and blazers most nights and were comfortable. It would have been much too cold for me to wear shorts or a short sleeve shirt.

I have found out it depends on the crowd. Too many patrons equals a lot of body heat. I have never been too cold in ANY casino in Vegas but have sat in busy sections where it has felt too warm for my liking.

It can still be pretty hot when you are going, so you might be comfortable in the casino and just about to have a heat stoke when you walk around the stip. It can be a long distance walking from one casino to the other.

I think Vicki b has the best suggestion to take layers of clothing easy to put on and remove.
