Need help finding a hotel deal for Oct 18 -22, 2013

Hi!

I am planning a mother/daughter trip to Las Vegas to celebrate my D's 21st birthday. I've been through the hotels threads for hotel recommendations and have decided to stay mid-strip since this is her first visit and I haven't been there in over 20 years. I started checking rates for Oct 18 - 22nd and was a bit shell shocked. Prices are just high for most of the hotels I checked > $150/night including resort fee with several mid-strip hotels >$200 and $300+ for the weekend nights. I'm guessing there must be a convention that weekend or winter season prices are in effect or I am not looking on the right web site. I typically book directly with the chain, hotel or triple A. I'm not a fan of Priceline, Expedia or Orbitz due to past experience. The travel dates are set in stone - she is a student and it is fall break. My budget is no more than $160 per night, resort fees included. Any suggestions on a nice place we could stay that is within our budget, safe and either on the strip or close to it? I'm willing to try one of the "vegas" websites if it comes recommended by several TA users (I'll run a search for it in TA).

If it helps - we will probably sight see at a lot of the major casino's, hitting the free indoor/outdoor entertainment, shop, see a show or two, hit a country western bar for some dancing, go to a spa, enjoy a couple of nice dinners, take in Fremont street on a weekend night and do some gambling. Thanks for your help!

Check for promo codes on smartervegas.com , these will allow you to book directly with the hotel or sign up on line with the hotel websites to recieve special offers.

Even with codes your options are very limited, would you consider the best western Casino Royale or the Quad , they are the only two mid strip properties that I can find to fit your budget.

For sum reason those dates are expensive for mid week.

I settled for harrahs only in town for 48hrs.

Wondering why 22nd october so dear.

Oh if anyone wants to meet and greet on 23rd.

Weekend rates will always be at least 2-3 times higher than midweek rates. TI has their $69.00 special for Sunday through Thursday and the resort fees are waived too.

Also, forgot to mention, keep in mind that there will be daily "resort fees" tacked on the room cost and they can run anywhere between $20 - $30 per day, which would make those rates even higher.

I checked your days directly on Treasure Island website, under their TV special for you, 2 queen beds coming in close to your budget, and no resort fees. Good Luck.

Since your getting pretty close to the dates i would at least make a reservation now, if you book directly through the property you can always cancel if you find something cheaper. As others have noted TI seems to be your best bet. If you are on a tight budget, downtown might be more of what your looking for but if you have not been to Vegas i would stay on the strip.

Ive been watching dates close to that for quite a while for a friend. There haven'tbeen really good prices mid strip in that range for months. Best price I've found her is ballys with the Vegas Insider code on smartervegas. Excal and Luxor are still pretty cheap, but not the location you or she are looking for

CBub is right. Luxor is within your price range. use code: LBIO about the best you can do given your budget. If you want mid-strip, you will have to pay more.
