Early morning activities in Vegas?

I'll be in Vegas for five days on business, and will be busy from 10 AM - 6 PM every day. Given the time zone differences, I'll probably be up by 5 AM, and I'd love to get some sightseeing done. What would you recommend for early morning in Vegas?

I did a web search for early morning activities, and it seems people just gamble or eat. I'm not into gambling at all, and I just can't eat that much! I like nature, but it looks like the scenic areas are all too far away. I'm into new experiences. I'd do gondola rides and see the Bellagio water fountain, except that I don't think they're open that early.

Thanks!

Just stroll up and down LVB, in and out of various casinos, and watch all of the partiers from the night before stumbling their way around, trying to figure out where they are and where they should be going. That should be good for a few laughs.

Early morning is a nice (uncrowded) time to see the Conservatory at Bellagio.

I agree with rhinoman. Just take a walk down the strip. It feels much different during the day, especially early in the morning, then at night.

Not sure where "The Flatlands" are but I find that I adjust to the time change in a day or two so if you're done by 6pm you can do the usual evening activities.

I agree with btr-L8--the Conservatory at the Bellagio is open 24 hrs and I'm sure the early morning is a great time to get the full effect without having to squeeze around a thousand people checking it out and taking pictures. Last time we stayed at the Bellagio, we had to pass the Conservatory to get to our room and I loved stopping in in the wee hours when it was mostly quiet.

I'd use that time to workout for a few hours. I workout, even on vacation, because I feel completely unbalanced without it. If you happen to be staying at Aria, you should know the gym is top notch for a hotel gym - one of the best hotels gyms in which I've worked out in the United States.

Not sure how far they are from your hotel, but what about early morning visits to Red Rock or Valley of Fire? Also, Hoover Dam is a must see even if you're there too early for an actual tour.

Looks like I'm about an hour away from Red Rock or from Valley of Fire. Hoover Dam is a bit closer, being 40 minutes away. If I'm out the door by 6 AM, I should have two hours at least., before getting to work by 10 AM. Do you know if the Hoover Dam is open even at such an early hour? I checked the site, and it seems that guided tours begin at 9 AM (too late for me). But would I still be able to drive through at 7 AM? Maybe I should call the visitor's center and check...

I think I'd like to see the Bellagio Conservatory, walk down the strip. Is there a stretch particularly suited to walking? My guide book seems to suggest driving is the best way, given all the space between hotels/attractions.

Also, what's the deal with parking? Is it like NYC or Boston where parking is basically impossible? Or is this more like the Mall of America?

You should be able to park and walk out on the dam and/or the by pass bridge. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about that.

Strip hotels all offer free self or valet parking. If you use the valet, be sure to tip upon pick up. Just pick a hotel, park and walk to those in that particular area. Some hotels are connected by free trams such as Mirage and Treasure Island, Bellagio, Monte Carlo and the City Center hotels, etc.
