2 nights in Vegas with kids

Please dont slam me and tell me Vegas is no place for kids :) I love Vegas even though have only been a couple of times! We will have 2 nights there on our way back to Australia, having spent 3 weeks in Orlando, so the kids cant complain!

We arent heavy gamblers (though I have been known to play on the slot machines!) and really just want the gaudiness of Vegas, see the fountains, walk the strip, go in the shopping areas of the casinos etc

Our price range doesnt really stretch to Bellagio, but I dont want cheap either. I have stayed at the Monte Carlo before but would like somewhere different and of course kid friendly (as friendly as Vegas can get for kids), and easy to get to other places on the strip

Also its for the end of november, will I get better prices if I wait until the last minute, or should I book best price I can get now and hope for a room upgrade deal or the like on checkin?

Me and partner (maybe we could get married in Vegas!) are Beatles fans, any advice on best price for tickets for LOVE?

I would recommend a non-casino property like Vdara, great location and very nice. I wouldn't wait any longer, you rarely find better rates on last minute hotels. check smartervegas.com for Love discounts

The cheaper dates end of Nov is the weekend before THanksgiving(28th). Alot of places are sub$60/70. I saw prices for Mandalay for $52 Sunday to Wed.

I'm sure alot of the other properties will have it discounted too.

I have taken my 6 and 9yo to Vegas dozens of times. We live in CA so I go every month. With my kids about 4 times a year. We keep it strictly family stuff of course during that time.

We dress up and take them to nice restaurants. And we do the whole walking around to see Venetian, Circus Circus and when weather is good, hike at the Red Rocks.

Book now as the prices are already pretty cheap for end of NOv

You almost never get good prices ion Las Vegas by waiting until the last minute. It is usually the opposite.

MGM would probably be a good choice, if you don't want to go back to Monte Carlo. Plenty of family friendly dining options, and still on the south end which has more attractions for kids. Of course the ages of the kids matter as 5 year olds don't like the same things as 15 year olds, so I can't recommend specific attractions.

Simply put, you won't really get a better price for LOVE tickets in LV or on the internet, than you will from the Cirque site. And you won't have to worry about getting 4 seats together in decent locations, like you might if you wait.

I would suggest Signature, perfect for families but you can walk to MGM for gambling, etc. MGM also has a restaurant called Rainforest Cafe that they may enjoy. Also there is a roller coaster across the street at New York, New York. I agree with above poster, check out smarter Vegas for hotel rates and show tickets and don't wait any longer.

How old are the kids?

My boys liked the Coca-Cola shop near the M&M World. If you go to the top floor there is a soda counter where you can order a sample platter of the different products Coca-cola sells around the world. If I remember correctly it was $7 for 16 small glasses.

They also got a chuckle out of the porn slappers and billboard trucks on the strip.

Take them down to Freemont st for one night too.

Pricing will be cheaper the week of thanksgiving. MGM, Venetian/Palazzo, THEhotel and Mandalay Bay would also be good options with great rooms, in-room movies while you are out, or while one of you is out. Room service and a movie in Vegas, what else would a kid want.

A lot of the cirque shows are 50%off at the moment, not sure how long it lasts for though.

I am taking my 13 yr old next week and one of her friend's famiy went in July with a 13 yr old and 10 yr old and they loved it- they went to M&M world, Zarkana, Bellagio fountains, the outlet stores and just looked at the casinos.
