UK Las Vegas Virgins

Me and my OH are planning to visit vegas for my 21st birthday in October next year...

We have been looking at the MGM Grand hotel but there is so many hotels to choose from that are all so stunning. We have a budget of a £1000 each for the hotel and flights from either London or manchester...Please could anyone suggest any good package sites that give competitive prices?

Also could anyone advise average costs of drinks/meals/shows on the strip just to give us a rough idea of how much spending money we will need?

Is there anything people would recommend as a 'must do' when visiting vegas?

Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks

I wouldnt count the agents out, I went to a lot of them to get a price comparison and they were not that bad. I might have got it a little cheaper by doing it myself but I dont think it would have been that much.

We booked through Kuoni and it was a great deal!

For that budget I would say Expedia would be your best bet, we have booked packages from Glasgow to Vegas 10 nights ranging from £750-1000pp so its doable. And that was BA flights.

We have booked twice with Expedia and flights from Glasgow via London and hotel have been about £700 each both times . We have stayed at Venetian and MGM so it's not poor hotels (circus circus etc)

We are looking to do it separately next time due to mlife comps but have a look at 3rd party sites . They are a bit of a risk as any problems will not be dealt with by airline/hotel and you will be referred to your booking agent however the vast majority of people will travel with no issues .

Have a great time .

Check out sky scanner for the flights, hotels i would book direct you can always cancel if you find something better at a later date, remember when looking at hotels they nearly all charge resort fees now so you need to factor this into your budget. As for drinks food ect it all depends upon your taste you can get a 1$ beer and a 1.99$ hotdog in casino royale whereas a meal and drink in somewhere like the Bellagio can cost you 500$. If you want headline shows i recommend booking in advance, if you want to see a show that is constant you can look around for discounted tickets on Smart vegas, Tix4tonight ect i hope this helps. Most of all enjoy its the best place in the world

Hi

We're going next month for the first time and can't wait.

I booked on the BA website for both flights and hotel. Got a discount for this way and are also covered just as a usual holiday would be.

We're staying at the Signature at MGM Grand and this was well within your planned budget. Another plus with booking BA was it included tge resort fees saving us $28 a night.

Obviously can't make any other comments or comparison as not gone yet but I thought it looked good on paper!

We're really looking forward to it.

Have just returned from Vegas and NY our flights with KLM from bristol was £759 each.

Dont miss out on doing the roller coaster ride in NY NY, I have never been so terrified in my life, The Vdara hotel is nice and quiet as it hasnt a casino but there are 2 about 5 mins away,if you have a need.As others have mentioned the resort fees are a pain, and also watch out as you will need to add sales tax to everything you buy, including the resort fee.

I,d consider going during Halloween and joining in the fun , also consider staying at two hotels so you get two different experiences ,maybe three days at the Golden Nugget , and four days at the MGM , try skyscanners, com for your flights and i4vegascom for your rooms

Expedia do lots of great deals so give them a go along with lowcostusa.com. For £1000 you could probably get a fornight out there. As for things to do it really depends on what you are into. I can stand for a good hour or two watching the fountains but you might much rather be dancing in one of the clubs!! Give us some idea of what you are into and i'm sure people on here can give you many helpful suggestions!
