What to do on the Strip between 8 am to 3 pm

And the only reason I am asking is because I was thinking of maybe doing Hoover Dam/Lake Mead, etc.

So was curious what do you usually do on the Strip during those times?

I always worry about folks on their first trip to Vegas who try to plan too much in a short time. Vegas at least for me personally is not enjoyable on a tight schedule. You will run across so many great places that you'll want to explore just on the strip and downtown alone to easily take up a few days or more.

I'm generally having my first Bloody Mary at around 8am, followed by breakfast, and after that? The possibilities are endless...

We usually have late breakfast/brunch then always do some gambling! If there is a NBA game on H might want to go watch or bet and I will shop or hit the spa. Even just exploring the strip is fun. In Vegas you don't need to find things to fill your time that's why it's our fave short vacation!

I spend my days driving around Off-Strip and/or Downtown. For one you'll pay almost 1/2 for the buffets than on the strip. We're out and about before 7AM and usually waiting for the B'fast buffets to open. Yep it's always us Old folks you see doing that, just look around. Orleans, Gold Coast, Palace Station, South Point, Sam's Town, GVR, even all the way out to Red Rock. As mentioned above the table mins are lower too off-strip as well. I'll play all day from after B'fast cruising right thru lunch then take a quick break driving somewhere else for the afternoon Session till Dinnertime at another lower priced buffet. After dinner is when we come back to the strip, park the car then freshen up, maybe a quick shower & change shirts for the nighttime Session. Repeat the same again the next day at some other places etc. etc. etc.

I go to see theConservatory at Bellagio. I walk around the Miracle Mile shops at Planet Hollywood. We go downtown to a museum like the Mob Museum. Fantastic museum, by the way. We go to the pool if it's summer. If it's winter we will go up to Mesquite and stay up there. While there we'll take a day trip to Zion. We'll go to Snow Canyon in St. George. We also love visiting Lake Mead.

We will usually do some shopping (Fashion show, Forum Shops), check out the Conservatory at Bellagio, grab some lunch and check out the hotels on the strip.

We just returned and we Loved the tour to the Hoover Dam. Very glad we did that! We originally were doing the Lake Mead cruise as well but we were there durring the government shut-downs and it was cancelled. I was very dissappointed but not their fault. We really enjoyed the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habbitat at Mirage. Also, the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay was nice and CSI was ok on last day cause it didnt require much walking. Take advantage of botanical gardens at Bellagio and Wynn-very pretty and free. Pools and hot tubs are great too! Do the eiffel tower at night!

We sleep in then go around and visit off strip casinos, downtown and usually do a little shopping. We really never hang on the strip until the evening. But, we go at for at least 7 nights so there is no hurry. Also been to Bolder dam before and it was worth the trip. This year we are either going to spend a day driving to Zion or drive out to Oatman then on the Laughlin for a while.
