Why you should always see a host.

We were in Vegas staying at Aria a couple of weeks ago and were walking by the Host's office and for once I deceided to stop in. I normally just go to the MLife desk to see if they can take anything off my bill. There was a very nice Host there who asked me what can I do for you. I explained to her I was there to see if you could take anything off my bill. She did, more than I thought was possible and then she gave me her card and said if I needed anything to contact her.

This past weekend my wife and I were talking about NYE and said wouldn't it be fun to go to Vegas. We normally just go over a friends house or they come to ours. Never really done anything 'crazy'. So just for giggles I emailed the host and inquired about 3 nights 12/30-1/2 to see what the best rate we could get. I was shocked when she responded the same day and told me the first 2 nights would be comp'd and the last night would be 110 dollars. By no means are we high rollers and to get 2 free night at some of the most expensive time in Vegas just floored me.

Now we will be there for NYE. Should be a blast. Staying at Aria for the 3 nights.

Moral is you never know what can happen until you ask. Thw Host was so helpful.

Mike, Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think it would be free. I was expecting some ridiculous rate which would have been easy to say no to. How do you say no to being in Vegas for NYE? Now if airfare was only lower. (lol)

Really looking forward for once doing something crazy.

I have definitely got to try this next trip. Getting tired of being told by the mLife desk that they can only take off the Express Comps and nothing else. Thanks for sharing this!!!!!!

Great tip indeed. I did this my last trip at TI and had a similar result. And congrats on the awesome rate for NYE.

I too did this at TI this year and was shocked to get 4 free nights (Petite Suite) comped! Also just got 3 more nights comped for NYE, but unfortunately, don't think we will be able to make that one, what a bummer!

I go to my host every time. I play . 40 cents to .80 at a time and never more. We are doing 11 days from 12/26 to 1/6 and paying only 325. I called my host last week and they took another 125 off after we came back from our August 13 day trip- paid 200 for 13 days and gave us an extra 80 off at the end. Saving is always awesome.

congrats, I tried to seek a host one time and I got told:

Our hosts regularly prospect active accounts and then make contact when a level of play has been reached. Since Las Vegas is such a highly sought after vacation destination, we require a slightly elevated level of play for one to qualify for host assignment compared to some of our other properties across the nation. Once you have qualified for a host assignment, you will be contacted by a member of our Casino Marketing team. Also, once you are on property, you are more than welcome to seek out a host on duty for assistance.

I too just contacted Aria about a host and was told once I get to the property, go to the Mlife booth and ask one of the Mlife representatives to contact a slot host that is on duty. I felt I kind of got blown off.
