Christmas in Vegas - - are most of the shows available?

Hi, the wife and I are seriously considering going to Vegas for Christmas this December, but wanted to know from others who have spent time in Vegas over Christmas if most of the shows are running that week (understand if they're not available on Xmas day), but can I expect to be able to go to shows a few days before or maybe the 26th or does Vegas shows shutdown?

We really don't do much in Vegas at night other than see a show, so it really affects our decision. Thanks

Yes - its a very popular time of year however so shows can sell out in advance.

As such, its good to decide what you want to see and for those must see type of shows get your tickets now.

It can be a bit of gird lock (even on the sidewalks due to the amount of people) so if you are planning a dinner followed by a show type event, just be sure to give yourself even more time to get from one to another (and suggest booking at same casino if you can find a restaurant and a show you like at same place).

Generally, after Christmas, most of the shows are running, as it gets busy in anticipation of New Years Eve. You can search any shows you're interested in now and see what schedules they might have.

Many shows take a week off sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas for vacations and maintenance.

Since the OP indicated they attend plenty of shows at night, I'm pretty sure they understand how to work dinner around their schedule.

Roadnut, the advice given by mini about allowing extra time is helpful as not everyone would know how busy Vegas is at the time the OP is going...

The week up to Christmas and the day after there are some restaurants closed, etc since it's dead, but shows tend to still be playing.

Lots of Headliners are dark that week but there are shows. Go to www.lasvegas.com

A good show to see is The Vegas Show at the PlanetHollywood Theatre

Vegas is getting busy that week.
