50th birthday restaurant?

Two couples looking to celebrate with a really good meal. However, don't want to break the bank (i.e keep it under $100 person). Suggestions?

Understood, and a completely valid point. The problem is, I don't have any definite opinions and am open to suggestions. I'm perfectly content going casual and saying "wow, who would have thought you could get an incredible meal like this in a such a casual environment?!". If it's formal, then I'd likely say "I would expect nothing less from Vegas... celebrity chef, phenomenal food, spectacular view, etc.". Or maybe even off-strip "Oh my god, who knew this place even existed? It's completely under the radar but damn is it good!".

Perhaps the better question would have been: "What are your three favorite restaurants in Vegas, and why?"

Thanks again.

Sterling Brunch: Lobster and Champagne

SW Steakhouse: Excellent food, service, atmosphere

STK: High energy steakhouse with a DJ; like a meal and a club in one!

Ping Pang Pong at Gold Coast: Casual Chinese restaurant that has been discovered by food critics. Almost certainly prepares more food to go for locals than any restaurant in a hotel/casino in Las Vegas. It is that good, and priced like a restaurant in your own town, not like a restaurant for tourists on the Strip. Possibly too casual for this occasion, as you won't spend anywhere near $100 pp.

Hugo's Cellar in 4 Queens downtown: We have celebrated many birthdays and anniversaries here, like many locals, so it holds memories for us. Very traditional old school Vegas fine dining. A rose for each lady, salad made tableside to each diner's specifications, complete meals including chocolate dipped fruit for dessert. Will be under budget, but a memorable experience.

Prime Rib Loft at Orleans: Another incredible bargain off-strip. Quiet atmosphere, very good food obviously specializing in Prime Rib. A great choice for this type of occasion.

"Or maybe even off-strip "Oh my god, who knew this place even existed? It's completely under the radar but damn is it good!".

All of these will qualify, although they certainly aren't secrets and you will need reservations at Hugo's Cellar and Prime Rib Loft.

BTW: If you want well-known tourist restaurants on the Strip I can also recommend some of those, as I've dined at many of them. But you would have a real challenge keeping most of them within your budget. And in many cases they won't deliver a better experience.
