Safe in Old Vegas?

Hi, is "old Vegas" (or downtown?) safe to walk around in at night?

If you stay in the main area under and near the canopy. I wouldn't go wandering too many blocks away.

First time I went, it felt shady walking from the parking lot to the main area. But there's a lot of security around, and people are great there. Nothing to worry about at all.

Why would you want to go slumming downtown? it's dangerous! ........ No, not really. It's safe. Security is very good DT. As long as you stay on Fremont and don't wander off it you should be fine.

It's safe. And you can wander slightly off Fremont, else I'd never make it back to our hotel when we stay at Main Street Station. I'm a middle-aged woman and I've walked from Main Street Station to El Cortez alone in the wee hours of the morning with no problems. Just always be aware of your surroundings if you're out and about in the less populated hours (in my case, 4 a.m.).

I am a middle- aged woman too and I would never walk around anywhere by myself at 4 in the morning.
