MGM location on the strip

Hi All,

My partner and i will be visiting Vegas next year in August & have just started researching hotels. At this stage we are pretty keen on the MGM but we would like somewhere quite central on the strip & i have read mixed reviews on the location of the MGM. We are both in our late 20's & will be wanting to check as much out as possible. We aren't the type to complain about walking to get places, would you class MGM as ''out of the way''? Thanks :)

No not "out of the way" but definitely towards the end of the strip. :)

There is a lot going on at the MGM and you can easily access the rest of the strip - especially for twenty-somethings. I'm a bit older and could easily get to over a dozen strip casinos in less than 10 minutes (from MGM) by walking and/or taking free trams. No, it is not "out of the way."

Not out of the way but definetly not centre strip. As you don't mind walking, then it'll be fine.

I agree. I always stay at Excalibur which is in the same vicinity as the MGM. The location is perfect and the Deuce/SDX is never far away.

Not out of the way, MGM is on the south end of the strip (near the airport) There is alot of action on that end and also very easy access to the rest of the strip, you will be fine.

Another benefit is that MGM has one of the best pool's in Vegas which will be a huge plus in August.

It's at the south end of the strip. There is plenty to do and see within walking distance. In august you'll really appreciate the pool complex at the MGM. Enjoy your stay...

Hi

I like that area. You can walk to Monte Carlo across the street, get the free tram from there (inside hotel at back) all the way to Bellagio, that's pretty central. Or go into Excalibur and take their tram to Luxor and Mandalay Bay. That's covered quite a few hotel's and cut down on walking. Even if your in the center but want to see the other hotel's you are going to have to walk alot, in both directions.
