New York New York Vs. Monte Carlo

Hello all, I currently received my fall offers for M life which was basically buy 2 nights get one free. Anyway, with me being a very very very very low roller these 2 hotels are in my price range and very similar in price. I have stayed at NYNY but never Monte Carlo. I do like NYNY but I was wondering what your thoughts were and which one you would choose from, given the 2 choices. Any advice would be great. Thanks!!

I have stayed at Monte Carlo and not NYNY.

That being said Monte Carlo is dull. The check in looks nice and that is about it. Rooms are dark, boring and last time I stayed didn't even have flatscreens (this was 2010).

If you are doing equal price to equal price, then you will get more for your money at NYNY and probably have a better time. If you can swing a little upgrade try to get into Hotel32 at Monte Carlo. Way nicer rooms albeit the basic rooms only have large showers no tubs. You might also want to check out MGM's new Grand King/Queen rooms as they are pretty cheap around $65 a night.

Thanks for the insight pns. I really like nyny's atmosphere even tho it is a smaller casino. Was kind of hoping MC would be similar. Bummer

I agree with PnS MC is pretty dull and compared with NYNY it's very boring.

The atmosphere is nothing like NYNY.

I would stick with NYNY.

I have stayed at both and prefer MC. The rooms are larger (400sq ft) and the tub is larger with a shower curtain rather than a cramped glass screen.

No way will you get an upgrade to Hotel 32. Best you might do is high floor with Strip view.

They are next to each other so you can benefit from both amenities.

The parent company that owns both properties considers Monte Carlo to be the nicer of the two. It's harder to get a comp at MC than It is NYNY . I'd stay at Monte Carlo before I'd pick NYNY. Have a great trip !

I prefer the rooms at the MC and the casino at NYNY. if you must stay at NYNY get the Madison ave rooms. Park ave rooms are small

I have stayed at both within the past year - standard room in MC and Spa Suite in NYNY.

Biggest question - what do you intend to do and where do you intend to go? If you are more interested in the NYNY/MGM/Tropicana/Excal/Luxor/MB part of Vegas, stay at NYNY as access to all of these is real easy. If you are more Aria/Bellagio/etc..., then chose Monte Carlo as the rooms are in the back near the walkway/tram to Aria/etc... .

NYNY casino is more visually appealing, but MC is bigger and has more variety. I also like the food options at MC better (love the Pub).

Quality wise - I'd rate them about even.

I prefer the location of the MC , connected to the Aria and free tram to the Bellagio but would be very happy staying at either
