1st vegas trip, where to stay???

Hi all,

British traveller planning a trip to vegas with my husband and our friends. we'll all be first time goers to vegas and we're all in our 20's.

im looking for an affordable, central and very "vegas" hotel, where everything is on our door step. looking for something a little quirky........any ideas?

Also any Vegas tips on what to do, to see etc would be a massive help.

thanks in advance

x

Planet Hollywood should be a good first time experience.....great location and caters to your age group. It has a contemporary Vegas vibe...

I , as well, believe that the ideal mid priced hotel for 1st timers is Mirage.

IMHO there is no ideal hotel. In many ways these hotels are all peas from the same pod. Any strip hotel will offer you a great Vegas experience. With the exception of swimming pools, you can use any amenity, restaurant, casino, club, or bar at any hotel. So, your hotel choice in no way limits what you can see and do. The strip is not really that big, but it can still get tiresome to walk it. So, no matter where you stay you will likely at some point avail yourself of the buses or taxis.

For the first time visitor, budget is key. You get a lot of hotel for your money in Vegas. But there is still a very large range of prices.

Those of use that have been numerous times have our favorites. But because there are so many similarities between hotels it often comes down to some fairly small factor that matters to us. That same factor may be irrelevant to you.

My point is not to agonize over this choice. The suggestion of Bellagio, Caesar's or Planet Hollywood (PHo, for short) is a good one. If those are all too pricy look at Paris or Bally's. Or Flamingo. These are central to the strip, which means 2.5 miles of walking will get you to one end or the other and back. They cover a broad range of prices, so something should work for you.

Given what you wrote, Carsars would be perfect . Great center location. Has everything, restaurants, shopping, entertainment, step out center strip.

Also less expensive, Flamingo. Rooms basic, not fancy. Also center strip. Great location

Enjoy

As far as I am concerned your description of what you want fits a Flamingo Go room to a tee. Try for a Go mini-suite if possible or a regular Go with Bellagio fountain view. Good luck!
