Help with wedding dinner! Scots getting married in Vegas!

Hi,

My fiancé Ian and I Are getting married in las Vegas august 2015 (I know we are a bit early).

We are looking for any help and or advice about a good place to have our wedding reception dinner we are not having a party oveer there just the dinner and drinks among friends and family.

Here is some information I think you should know We have a total budget of $2000 tip 20% + tax 8.1% inc in this figure. We will have a party of 28 people max no kids. I will be in my wedding dress and Ian will be in his kilt so nowhere too casual or open to the public a private dining area would be best. We would like the cuisine to be American, Italian, gastro pub, or British (if we can get it lol). And preferably somewhere that doesn't charge a booking fee.

We have been looking into the Il Moro room within Canaletto in the vinecian hotel with strong thoughts of booking it for the room alone not particularly for the food. The room looks amazing and really romantic so any feedback about the room, staff, or food would be appreciated

Any places that fit the bill please feel free to post and comment we need all the help we can get

Thank you in advance :)

Rachael

Sorry, no specific feedback on a place. But I will say that neither your fiance or you should worry about feeling out of place in your wedding attire. Folks are dressed up all sorts of ways every day in Vegas. And plenty of wedding parties out and about.

Yes, as Wheatie said, sport your wedding attire all day...I know I did! We were congratulated by many people, posed for pictures with people, and I was even given a $25 chip from someone in the casino as a wedding gift (complete stranger, he must have been having a good night at the tables lol)...it is great fun and makes you feel really special. Sorry that I can't help with the venue ideas...my party wasnt that big, so I didnt research options that would accomodate that many. Good luck though!

Every major casino-resort will be able to handle your party. Be aware that your budget is a little low if you want to include drinks. If your wedding planner is in one of the resorts that should be your first contact. Give him/her your budget and see what's available. And of course call Canaletto's group contact - email does work, but a call will indicate you're serious - these places get hundreds of emails every day.

If nothing appeals/ fits your budget at your hotel then start to branch out. There are a surprising number of very good restaurants in Las Vegas that are *not* in casinos. One good source for reviews is www.eatinglv.com

I think wheatie meant to say we shouldNT lol yea it will be a fab day I should think no matter where we go :) yea that budget is just the meal not the drinks aswell! Should have mentioned that I'm meaning I don't want some here that will shoe us out as soon as we finish our dessert! Lol the 2000 is food only we are quite simple over here a wee 3 course would do we can roughly go to $60 a head if that helps :) thank you for the replys so far :) x

I mention Maggiano's on this Forum that I think people are beginning to suspect I have an ownership interest in it. I don't, but we do enjoy their tiramisu.

They have a private dining room that people use for parties, receptions, office events, ...

I was trying to say "don't worry about being in your wedding attire". I probably should have written "neither you nor your fiancé should worry..."

Helps that drinks aren't included in your $60-70 per person, and that's you're adding tax and tip on top of that. That's still not going to get you a top flight place on the strip, though, for that budget. There are any number of mid-range places that should work. Many restaurants do have private rooms. I would also suggest you speak with your wedding planner, if you're using one.

If the cost of calls is an issue, use skype.

The budget seems a bit light for that many people. You might want to think about getting a hospitality suite somewhere and having the dinner catered in.

My sister had her dinner reception for her wedding at Maggianos as mike said, in the private room and it was very classy looking and nice, they catered to us all night and it was lovely. This was a few years ago, but I would give them a call.

Hi I got married in the Bellagio Terrace a few years ago. We had 15 in our party and had the private room in Sensi for our wedding meal. I cannot remember the exact cost but worth asking them. PM me if you had any questions. I'm also Scottish. The one thing to remember is that Vegas is fantastic for a wedding regardless of whether you have large/small/chapel/hotel/drive through/Elvis style wedding. Just relax and enjoy it!
