USA travel

Hi all,

I am posting this message on the Vegas forum but this more a USA travel forum message.

It's our 10th year anniversary next year and we are thinking to come back to the USA but would like to try a different state to visit.

We have been to NYC, Vegas and done California before.

We would like to try something new, we enjoy doing tourist things and eating in restaurant where locals go for lunch or diner.

Does there is a place in the USA which brings the best of Vegas and New York together.

Which place would you recommend to visit? we are thinking to go in may 2015.

We love american sport as well (american football, baseball ).

Thanks for your help

Los Angeles and San Francisco in my humble opinion. Nice drive and places to visit in between as well. You could also chuck in Vegas if you so wish.

No.

May is baseball season. There's a complete schedule here: mlb.mlb.com/mlb/schedule/team_by_team.jsp

If you have the time, you might consider doing something like a "colonial tour" through New England. Things are close together (by USA standards), and there are tons of places to see, things to do, etc. You could probably get in a couple ball games without too much effort as well.

I would recommend New Orleans and the lower Mississippi region. It is one of America's best food cities. There is some gambling in the city and much more a short drive away. Many of the people and the culture can trace their heritage back to France. I have always had a lot of fun on my visits to New Orleans.

Enjoy.

I recommend Washington DC, Philadelphia and Atlantic City and the Jersey Shore. Atlantic City is not as good as Vegas but there are a bunch of casinos there. How many days will you be here? Also, the football season will be over so you will only be able to watch baseball.

If not coming until May, Chicago is an excellent choice. Lots to see as far as museums, buildings, and 2 professional baseball teams. Great food options and loads to do. May weather is excellent in Chicago.

All of the other choices are great too, just adding this one to the list.

New Orleans is the first thing that comes to mind. The party atmosphere of Vegas... the great food and jazz of New York. The only professional sport that time of year in New Orleans is basketball.

But I wouldn't plan the whole trip in New Orleans. I find 2-3 days to be plenty! But while you are there...Laissez les bon temps rouler

I agree that New Orleans is a great choice for about 5 nights. Although the earlier in May the better, as you will experience a combination of heat and humidity you are probably not used to there.

For a unique American experience consider a vacation that includes the Nashville and/or Memphis areas. Both have great smaller music/club venues, along with the more well-known options. And restaurants with their own distinctive cuisine.

We recently combined a few of the suggestions already given and that was great.

Chicago first and then to Memphis by Amtrak____drove to Nashville and flew to New Orleans.
