MGM Grand West Wing

I've booked a west wing room at the MGM grand but since then I've read online people saying they wouldn't stay in them. Can anybody tell me why? What's wrong with them rooms? Thanks

Hi

I stayed in a west wing room couple of weeks ago and had no problems with it at all ok room might not be as big as others but it had a bed a shower a toilet a tv was perfect for me as a solo traveller and would stay in one again

easy access to strip out of side entrance without having to walk miles through the casino i always came out by sportsbook / rainforest cafe area simple :)

I suspect you need to consider it from a monetary perspective...

Hi

Personally I would stay in the Grand tower. The west wing rooms do not appeal to us at all. Smaller with no view. I understand also that the bathrooms are not very private, if that matters to you. Having stayed twice in the tower and had great views I would prefer that to a wall or similar. Ask for a tower room above the 13th floor. Both times we stayed we had rooms in the 20's with great views.

The west wing rooms are very small (aprox 350 sq ft) and have an odd layout, they also only have one small window above the bed with no view. Would be ok for a single traveler who just wants a place to crash but no way I would stay there as a couple. The one plus they do have is very easy access to the strip, just get in the elevator and you are there.

You should be able to get their standard room the "grand king" for about $10 more per night which are bigger (aprox 450 sq ft) and have a normal layout, larger windows and a better view.

Basically, if the room means nothing to you other than a place to hang your hat then stay where you are however, if the room means anything at all to you then I would most definitely kick in the extra few bucks for a better experience as it is well worth it in my opinion.

We have stayed in the West Wing twice, and thoroughly enjoyed both stays. The room is not small by English hotel standards, they have a very large, comfortable bed. No bath but a good and roomy shower. The thing most people seem put off by is the fact the bathroom is not completely separate. I can see this may be an issue if you are sharing a room with someone you don't know very well, but my husband and I didn't have any problems with the layout of the room. As for there being no view, that's not strictly true. Ask for a room high up and towards the end of the corridor. We had great strip views both times we ave stayed there.

I guess it depends on your budget, but if these are the best rooms you can afford, please don't worry they they will be awful, they're not! And they are really close to the side entrance, you can be out onto the Strip in a few minutes.

We are back at the MGM Grand this year for the 3rd year in a row - it can't be that bad!!!

The west wing is the former Marina Hotel, built long before the green monster.

Small dark horrible room, not for two ppl. If its only one in the room its ok. The bathroom has no door its just basically part of the small room. Also a really really long hallway it looks like a illusion how long the walk is

I wasn't going to comment since I have never stayed here, but dang these rooms leave nothing to the imagination!

But as and Englishman said already, those might be fine rooms by English Standards.
