Help me with a short list of hotels please

Hi All,

Just jumping over from the LA forums as we are travelling around USA in May. We are in Vegas for 5 nights from Sunday the 18th to Friday the 23rd. We are a couple in our early 30's and don't plan on hitting nightclubs but will be looking to attend some shows, combination of activities and relaxing during the day but want to get a a good room in a good hotel. So many options and happy to spend big dollars if it is worth it but don't want to throw money at a room if another room is 'almost as good' can be had for half the cost.

Budget - $200 up to $300 a night (maybe more if amazing)

Key wants: good pool(s), good view, on the strip (middle or towards south end).

Appreciate any responses. I have been looking at the vegas.com site and there are plenty of deals but not sure what provides the value. If something great is available and really cheap then I would consider that too and put the money towards more tours/activities/shows etc.

Cheers,

Adam and Sara

I would stay mid strip, Bellagio gets my vote. Fantastic hotel in a great location.

I would definitely recommend the Venetian - it's an all suite hotel and you won't be disappointed. The rooms are amazing, and you can get a strip view too.

If you wanted to be more mid strip check out Cosmopolitan/Aria (next to Bellagio)

I have only stayed in the Venetian so far, but we are going back to Vegas in May (we actually arrive the same day as you, and staying for 7 nights with our friends - 2 couples in our late twenties) and staying at Aria this time around.

Bellagio or Venetian either one would be perfect. My first choice would probably be Bellagio.

Starting from the south end of the Strip. THEHotel at Mandalay Bay is awesome. All rooms are suites with 2 bathrooms, 3 TVs, and a separate bedroom. THEHotel does not have a casino but if you walk down a corridor to Mandalay Bay you can gamble to your hearts content. Plus Mandalay has one of the top pools on The Strip with its own beach.

Mandarin Oriental is one of the top rated hotels in the world and the top in Vegas. While it does not have the Vegas vibe you will get amazing service, and this is the only place in the world where you can stay in a true 5 star hotel for $200 a night.

Aria's corner suites are around $300 and are terrific. You get a large tub in front of a floor to ceiling window, practically unmatched views of Vegas (if you are high up enough), and the hotel has a casino, good pool, and all the amenities you could want.

Bellagio's Tower King is great as it is a corner room with a better bathroom with view tub like Aria. It is dead center strip and the pool is good here. Plus fountains!

Mirage. For $300 you can get a Tower Suite with a possible free upgrade to a Penthouse. They are the same room (1100 sq/ft) with a giant bathroom with spa tub, and they are on the top floors of the hotel so you will have a decent view to a fantastic view depending on what side of the hotel you are on. The pool is also nice, and was relaxing to me (over a busy holiday no less).

You can get an Augustus Tower room at Caesars Palace for those dates for $1,908.71 including taxes and resort fee. Beautiful rooms and they have an amazing pool complex.

I suggest the cosmopolitan. I'm similar age to you and stayed here on my last visit! Modern, hip hotel, great pool, bars, night/day clubs. Also central on strip

Mgm is also good but on a massive scale compared to cosmopolitan.

Bellagio, Caesars(palace rooms or higher), or Mirage ( IMO- Mirage has the best location on the strip).
