Tropicana

Looking at options for hotels! How do people rate the Tropicana? Rooms/ pool/ restraunts/ casino.

Been to vegas 3 times previously but never been to Tropicana, but some good deals price wise seem to be available for this hotel.

Thanks in advance

The renovated rooms are great. The casino seems open and airy. The only thing I think Tropicana is lacking in is the availability of different restaurant choices. However, a quick walk across the street to MGM and you'll have more restaurant choices than you can imagine!

Personally I think the Trop has made a good comeback among the 'mid range' hotels on the strip.

The location is ok, the new pool is nice, the renovated rooms are really well done, and the table minimums are within my range.

I believe booking is through the Double Tree website and they give good discounts to certain groups (military, AAA, Seniors, etc)

I agree. The only real drawback is the lack of dining options. We found the buffet lacking and over-priced. But other than that it is a nice 3 star option.

It does look nice and bright! And clean. Where would you compare it too on the strip ???

I don't hear much about the Trop, but what I've seen of the casino seems really nice. Anyone know if they often have $5 craps tables? It seems like a place I would enjoy playing since it feels very open and bright.

I was in a couple of weeks ago and minimums were all $10, no $5 craps or BJ to be found. killed it for me.

I stayed there earlier this month. They have $5 tables weekdays. If busy, they will change it over to $10 at night. I did stop at an empty $10 blackjack table on a Thursday night and asked if I could play $5 - the pit boss agreed. As more folks came to the table, I was "grandfathered" in at $5.

I cannot remember if the handicap-access table (lower table/chairs) is always $5; I wouldn't be surprised if it is.
