Help me out with tipping standards

Hey Guys we're staying at Wynn this weekend and I'm not up on the standards for tipping. What should we leave for housekeeping daily, help from concierge and a bellman who helps with bags or a taxi?

I usually leave 3 to 5dollars for house-keeping. Be sure to leave a note with it or they may not take it. The bellman will get about $2per bag or between 5&10dollars total. When I get a cab, which is rare, I will tip the guy 3to5dollars to get the cab. Usually closer to 3. The cabbie will get 3to5dollars for a drop on the strip somewhere. If my wife and I get a drink from the cocktail waitress I will tip her $5. have fun

I won't tell you what to do, but I will tell you what I do.

Housekeeping gets $5 left daily for a resort room, more for a suite. If we have evening service, I also include $5 daily for that maid.

Bellmen I usually $3-$5 for taking the bags from the cab, and $5 when they are delivered to the room.

We don't use the concierge often, as we usually make all of our own reservations. If I ask for something special delivered to the room, or a reservation to a sold out show or restaurant at another hotel I will usually tip $20.

Again, this is just what I do. I hope it might help.

$5 a day for the maid, every day.

$2 per bag for the bellman. If you have 4 bags, just round it up to $10.

I do not tip the guy who opens the cab door or whistles the next cab up.

Concierge, $20 as ktinca said when they do something above and beyond.

We leave at least $5/day housekeeping, more if we are messy and/or request extra stuff. If we have a suite we up the tip to $10 daily. Remember that a different person might clean your room each day so it is important to not leave the entire tip at the end of your stay.

We don't often use the concierge, but I am sure $20 would be fine if you request a service and they are able to provide it.

We tip the bellman at least $3/bag and about $3 or so to hail a cab for us. We tip at least $5 for a cab ride, and adjust upwards depending on the total cost of the ride.

$3-$5 housekeeping.

$2 for the guys that get me a cab.

$3/$5 for a round of two drinks in a casino depending on what I have. (If I have $3, that's what she gets, otherwise $5)

It doesn't necessarily "do" anything, other than show appreciation for someone's efforts in doing what can often be a very dirty job. I would expect my room to be cleaned to the same standard whether or not I tip the housekeeping staff.

Okay, dumb answer. If you were a maid would you treat those who don't tip exactly the same as those who do? Maids are real people too. And they like it when their efforts are appreciated.

"Okay, dumb answer. If you were a maid would you treat those who don't tip exactly the same as those who do? "

Well, either the toilet is clean and the bed is made...or it isn't. Either the trash bin is emptied...or it's not. Either the dirty towels are replaced with clean ones...or they're not.

I am one who tips housekeeping. But I honestly haven't seen them go to any unexpected effort because I do. My room is cleaned. On the rare occasion when something's wrong with the cleaning, I call downstairs and they come make it right.
