Las Vegas food and drink prices September 2014 MGM

HI everyone. Heading to Las Vegas in September for 8 nights staying at the MGM. Planning to have a ball. Curious to know if anyone could provide me with a rough estimate of how much a typical meal tends to cost and how much you would pay for a pint of beer or such.Apologies for asking such an open ended question. Typically here in the UK where i'm from we can expect to pay around £30-40 pounds sterling for a nice meal including drinks. Alcoholic drink prices averaging around £4-6.00. Thanks in advance guys

There really is no way to answer this question, prices are all over the place depending on where and what exactly you are eating and what kind of beer you are drinking.

Beers range from $2 - $15. Nice meals range from $50 - $1000+.

Hope that helps.

In very general terms I'd suggest a budget of around $30 per person (around £20) in a mid range restaurant for 2 courses excluding drinks.

A beer will cost around $6 + with cocktails from around $15 + although prices will vary significantly depending on where you are drinking.

It depends where you dine. If you really want to know, I suggest you find a list of restaurants in Vegas, see which ones you're interested in and research online menus with prices. That's what I do.

Thank you for the replies guys. I understand each place will have its own variety in terms of prices :). $20-30 dollars sets me a good marking point so thank you also for that also. I'm currently a victim of the myvegas app on facebook and I was quite alarmed when it quoted 7000 points for a cocktail. Made me wonder how much they are typically going to average around. Thank you once again guys

One of the good things about MGM is that there is a good variety of places to eat on-site at a range of prices. Your $60/pp estimate is OK, and you can eat well on that albeit not at the top end.

Cocktails as I recall run in the $10-$13 range for most call brands. Sorry, I don't drink beer so can't advise.

Keep in mind that prices on the menu don't include tax or tip. So tack another 25% onto the menu prices to get your out the door price.

I would say $100 per person per day is a mid-range budget. The "fine dining" restaurants will easily cost you $100 per person out the door for dinner with appetizers or deserts and a couple of drinks. But there are plenty of places where you can be in and out for $50-60 per person. Combine that with something basic for lunch or breakfast and something snacky at some other time of day and you'll be fine. We rarely each three regular meals each day in Vegas.

You can also save money by eating a big lunch then something light in the evening.

Happy hours can be another money saver. Many bars and restaurants have them from about 3-6 in the afternoon. These usually have drink and appetizer specials.

Not too far from the MGM is the Miracler Mile shopping mall located at the Planet Hollywood hotel and inside the mall there are some placves to eat that are a little bit less expensive then similar restauramnts/cafes inside the MGM.

You can look at many Las Vegas restaurant menus on line. MGM website includes their restaurants and menus as do most of the Resort Casinos. You can find plenty of good restaurants that offer 1/2 price drinks with happy hour. The biggest challenge will be deciding where to eat.
