Regardless of when you go to Vegas, the room rates always go through the roof on Fri/Sat nights.

Even at one of the cheap casino hotels the rates can go from $25 a night sun-thurs to $200-$300 a night fri and sat.

It also depends on if there are special events - fights, conventions, etc - that also pushes the prices up on even weekdays.

If you can book in advance of one these events being advertised you could get a cheap rate and then see the prices go sky high when the event is announced - its just luck really - similar to playing blackjack, poker and the slots.

Normally when I've gone in the past I've stayed mon-thurs or sun-thurs and gone out to the Grand Canyon or somewhere at the weekend and then gone back again after the weekend when the prices have dropped again. I have also picked my vacation weeks very carefully.

I would be thankful I booked early and saved!

The reality is that pricing is based on supply and demand. All of the major properties factor anticipated demand into pricing, such as weekends, special events, public holidays, and so forth. Then they monitor anticipated demand with actual reservations, and adjust pricing accordingly

Your stay includes Memorial Day Weekend, which is huge in Las Vegas, and the main reason the rates are so high. And as mentioned ALL weekends have higher rates. Also rates are greatly affected by any large conventions or special events.

Fortunately you booked early enough in advance, as the rates will probably keep going up for those weekend dates as we get closer.

BTW: For a 10 night trip which includes some very expensive nights, many of us would split our stay between 2 or even 3 hotels, partly to experience different properties, but mostly to keep the total cost down by staying in a cheaper hotel for those more expensive dates.
