Drinking in Vegas

When I was in Vegas about 12 years ago, you were able to bring your drinks form casino to casino and even in the cabs! Is this still true? Also, if this is the case, is there any reason why I can't make my own drinks and bring them with me? Perhaps reuse a cup that one of the casinos gives out?

You can walk on the street with a drink. But technically you can not have an open container in a cab.

You can make a drink in your room and carry that out with you in whatever cup you like. You will see all sorts of beverages being carried around the strip, from one property to another, etc.

Thanks for the info. I just want to confirm that I can make a drink in my hotel room, and bring it with me into casinos? Wow, that will save money on drinks.

How does that work? You finish your drink and run back to your hotel for another Jack Daniels shot? ;)

You know that drinks are free when playing in the casinos?

No, I won't go back to my room. I may carry a flask with me. ;)

Yes, I know drinks are free in some casinos when playing. Is this true for MOST casinos in Vegas? I plan on playing craps, so maybe I'll just go in and throw some money down and order a drink.

Youre best to sit at a bar that had video poker, put in $10, play the max bet $1.25, and hangout for a bit without furiously betting. Drink service will be much better as the bartender is right in front of you.

Yeah, but they always taste much better (and not watered down) when you make it yourself! :)

And yes, drinks are free in just about every casino when you're sitting there gambling. You just have to tip

I don't know of any casino in Las Vegas where drinks aren't free on the casino floor when playing. There are a very small number of bars with Video Poker machines that do not comp drinks. But these are rare, and the bartender should let you know.
